“Very Good Hotel in Munich Schwabing”
The Fleming was a great choice for a wintertime Munich visit. The hotel and its location was excellent, easy to find by car (and with very good in hotel underground parking) and close to public transportation. The room (a single) was about the size of a broom closet and offered little room for a suitcase, for example; the bed was narrow but adequadte. But this was a very good broom closet! It was furnished and equipped in high quality and good taste with an excellent bathroom, handsome shower, first quality plumbing fixtiures. The lighting in the room was ok - - - unless you wanted to read and was not acceptable for that. The small room served my purposes well and I would choose this hotel again.
“Great Location”
The Flemings Hotel is in a great location. It is a quick walk to the U-Bahn stations and also very close to shops in restaraunts in Schwabing. You can also reach the Englisch Garten and the Marienplatz very quickly as well. The front desk staff were very friendly and nice. However I was disappointed with the food service staff as well as the housekeeping staff. It was always very late in the day before they would come to clean the room and it seemed there were at least three people coming to the door each day regarding housekeeping and the mini bar. All should be handled by one person so as not to continutally disturbe guests. And the room should be cleaned earlier so that late in the afternoon when coming back for a rest after being out during the day, the room is clean and the guests are not disturbed.
“munich hotel”
This hotel is not in the centre of sight seeing in Munich but you may reach the centre by taking the subway. The bathrooms are a bit small and the shower is exposed in the room and not a private shower. The rooms are clean and the breakfast option is good.
“Schwa-BING”
Fleming's Hotel Schwabing Munich is a modern, clean hotel with a fantastic breakfast! Staff was friendly and helpful. I stayed in a double room, which was a bit tight, but average for European standards. The one very significant thing to note is the shower and bathroom, which were very much a part of the rest of the room. I had never seen anything like it before, but the shower is simply a glass cube in the room and anyone else in the room can see right in. The toilet was in a separate small closet-like room, and the door that closed was just fogged glass, and not very private. The room was very clean, modern, and well furnished with comfortable beds, etc. Just be aware of the bathroom situation if this is going to be a problem for you. The breakfast was excellent with typical German cuisine of cold meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal. Excellent croissant rolls, and the kitchen makes eggs to order. The Wi-Fi was not working too well when I was there, and it required the front desk to print out a new username and password each day. Kind of a hassle, but whatever. The location is very convenient. Just about an 8-10 minute walk to two different U stations, and a variety of restaurants and bars. Its also not far from the English Garden, which is worth a visit. This area is a bit quieter and out of the center of Munich, for those that are unfamiliar with the city. Its a very easy and quick metro ride to Marienplatz though. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but it was not outstanding.
“They refused to fix the AC, nor change my room nor get me a fan! This lasted for 7 nights!”
I would not return to this hotel - despite the staff being very helpful and the restaurant being pretty good and convenient. I stayed for 7 nights in a small room in June when the temperature had reached 35 degrees during my stay. The AC in the room did not work. After 2 sleepless nights and twice being told that the AC was fixed. I requested that the engineer come to my room. Upon admitting that the AC could not put out enough air to even move a tissue he cleaned the intake area and said this was all he could do! I asked the front desk for a fan (which they did not have), then I asked if they could move me to another room (which they said were all taken or allocated for future customers) and then when I asked to shorten my reservation they told me that any changes on a prepay reservation had to be made 60 days in advance. I told them that I was requesting a change because they put me into a room that was a closet with no AC and no ventilation. I ended up having to stay but without much sleep until the weather cooled down on my 5th day. The staff otherwise is friendly though the manager simply refused to do anything about my room. This was probably the worst hotel situation I had ever gotten myself into since under their rules you have no option but to bear with their failures! The connected restaurant was very good and convenient. I would definitely not stay here again nor probably at any other Flemings hotel given my experience and their customer service.
“Decent, relatively inexpensive hotel”
This is a decent hotel if you need to be in this area. Convenient U-bahn and bus service nearby. The staff is decent - not great. The rooms are also decent, but twice, I've had the experience of the hotel having no hot water in the morning. I don't sense that this place is run very tightly. The breakfast is pretty good. The free wireless internet access is pretty unreliable, so if you have a need for a decent connection (I do), you shouldn't stay here. As much as I find Flemings to be a good value, I'm forced to go elsewhere because of the bad internet connections. Also, the street noise with rooms facing Leopoldstrasse can be bad in the mornings.
“A sad no star hotel!”
Rooms were small, signs of wear and tear such as stains on carpet, dust on light fixtures and chipped furniture. The towels were thread thin and frayed on the edges. Front desk staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. Overpriced.
“Lived up to expectations”
overall the hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were attentive. I was expecting a little more for the price paid as breakfast was a little slow and there was a stain on my room carpet. having said this the bathroom was very nice if a little tight. Had a pleasent stay all in all.
“Not a 4 star hotel”
The hotel is overrated, a 2.5 star rating is more reasonable. The A/C in the room leaked to the carpet and smelled moldy. The wireless was out which was a great hassle. The location is good, but cleanliness in the public/lobby areas were poor. The staff were ok, along with the breakfast. I was expecting more from a 4 star rated hotel.
“Shower does not work...thats nice”
Shower head was broken. I arrived on a Friday and ask for a repair and was told i had to wait until Monday. I was checking out on Sunday so that did not do me any good. what kind of customer service is this?
