Nice hotel, 15 mins walk to Marienplatz. Close to good restaurants, rental car agency, sixt and grocery store. Was welcomed by very nice receptionist at evening (believe her name was Kristine). Gave us all the information needed. Would highly recommend to talk to her, and not the day time staff members who were disappointing.

Good value for the money - the room was small and rather spartan but it was quiet and there were no issues as I didn’t spend much time in the room. Breakfast was great, and there were coffee and fruit in the reception room. Only a short walk to the Lehel subway station, and there were a few really good neighborhood restaurants within a few blocks. I’d happily stay again.

I enjoyed my stay, worth the price. Cheap breakfast and very good. Also good location. Only issue is that I accidentally spilled a drink on my bed with a very obvious stain and for 2 days the room was cleaned and the stained ignore. Finally on my last night were my sheets changed.

BAD ATTENTION!!!!
The staff were totally bad in regards attention, felt like they are doing me a favor with the reservation and with each thing that I had request. The last day, I ask to storage my suitcases as every hotel and when I got back the lady told me “why I do have to give you the key” when she obviously knew that the bagages were there inside. I travel to Munich 8-10 times a year and the attention was poor at all!! The location is good and near to a train station (5 minutes by walk)

Plain, but well-located
The location, near the southern tip of the English Garden and an easy walk to Marienplatz, is superb. The hotel itself is bare-bones. I had a single room and the stand-alone-shower was way too small. Other rooms had larger bathrooms. The staff was excellent -- kind, helpful and humorous.

It's in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Quick access to the metro. The breakfast buffet was good, but pricey. The hotel overall was very nice.

Good location however hotel is very dated. We stayed for 4 nights and our room was never properly cleaned. Some hotel staff were helpful, however others made you feel like you were bothering them when you asked questions. The wifi is terrible!!

Not my first choice
Check in staff were indifferent. Gave the impression they just didn't care. Room was clean, but very dated. Carpet should have been replaced a while ago. A cheaper place to stay and ok for a day or two, but I would not stay here again. .

Nice hotel at a fair price and a 10-minute walk to Marienplatz ...just wish they have air conditioning as the weather was abnormally very warm in Munich at that time ( 30+ celcius !! ) .

Not clean.
The room was very hot and when we opened the window to cool down in the evening a lot of insects flew in because there was no fly screens (and no air-conditioning!). The carpet was filthy. Bathroom floor black in between each tile, water did not go down drain in shower and glass window very dirty.

Very nice location but everything is old and shabby. I asked 5 times for the shower drainage to be unblocked but they never did it. The reception Staff was quite unfriendly.

Nice neighbourhood
Hotel nicely situated in a quiet area, yet at a walking distance from the centre. The room is small without any amenities or even a safe deposit box. The bathroom was hardly cleaned during our 3 days stay. The staff was unfriendly.

Fabulous Location
I wanted to be near theatres and museums , this is the great choice at a doable price. Near transportation, and walking distance from all the historic tourist type of places I wanted to go.

Great Smaller Hotel
Convenient to transportation and an easy walk to the Marienplatz, a prime tourist and shopping area. The hotel is clean, bathrooms modern and bed very comfortable. Only the pillows were poor. They really need to be replaced or refilled. The lobby was comfortable with coffee, tea cookies and fruit seemingly available at all times. A wonderful, complete breakfast at a very reasonable price was available as well.

Great location but in need of a slight clean
This hotel is ideally situated for all the main sites in Munich and I've stayed here many times. This time I must say that the room was a bit shabby. The bathroom could do with upgrading (black mould between tiles etc), although the shower was very good and powerful. We unfortunately dropped some crumbs on the carpet when we arrived and they were still there the day we left - having stayed 3 nights. Although the room was visited everyday - towels folded, bed made etc.- it didn't feel that any cleaning was really done and the carpet was really dirty. I'd probably still stay here because of the area and price but I do hope they invest in at least a vacuum cleaner!

Great value and location (not for basic Americans)
I was a little hesitant about booking here after reading some reviews but really enjoyed my stay. This is my interpretation, if you are looking for luxury and a staff that will greet you with a big ole smile, than this is not your place and you should book at the 4 seasons. This is a 3 star hotel people, set your expectations accordingly. If you want a clean room that is pretty nice, comfortable and of descent European size than stay here. The staff wasn't unfriendly like I read, they took care of my basic requests which is all I was expecting, and actually went above and beyond that. The location is a short walk to many (most) city attractions. I think walking 12 minutes to Marienplatz is not long especially when you get to walk through parks, museums, historic buildings and high end shops. Trust me I love hotels that take care of me but this is a nice value option so you can splurge on nice dinners, drinks, tours and museums.

Pick Your Hotels Wisely. I Regret Staying Here
I have been traveling for business & personal for five years. I'm not impressed w/ this hotel for these reasons: 1. The hotel has an antiquated key box for those that come in after the front desk closes. Why? Even cheap hotels in Ukraine have 24 hour front desk! 2. Front entrance is dark and a new guest coming in to get their key could get attacked there and no front desk supervision is dangerous given the increased terrorist attacks in the last year in Germany! 3. Front desk seemed annoyed when I asked for restaurant recommendations considering there are no dinners hours at the hotel. 4. Restaurants limited. Old Town 15-20 minute walk. 5. Room did not have a secondary lock on the door - again lack of concern for security. 6. Bed was hard and pillows were like a feather with no support. I asked for a firm pillow and staff provided the same kind and brought it to the room knocked and came into my room before I could respond! Very Rude! 7. Annoying ala cart pricing. They make you think you're getting a deal and I didn't see the value. 8. No free breakfast! What is up with that?! 9.

Good value, comfortable hotel, good location
Stayed three nights at thr Golden Leaf. Very good location for getting to sights with an easy 15 minute walk or quicker by tram. There are a few very good restaurants in the neghborhood frequented by locals. The transport to the airport super easy. The room is cozy - smallish - but well valued. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Basic WLAN came with the price and thereis coffee and fruits/pastries in lobby area.

Very expensive during Oktoberfest. Prices for the hotel where jacked up. No AC & it was warm at the end of September 76 degrees. Can't imagine this hotel during the summer. WI-Fi was very spotty and they charged more for good access. No breakfast included which these days is normal. All-in all not great. Young girl at front desk very helpful & nice. Fairly close to old town square.

Not good very poor attention to detail. Asked for non feather bedding and because they fail to carry out the request returned to England very ill to the point I was at the doctors the next day. Munich is a rip of during Octoberfest and it is quite clear that the Germans still don't like us. Return? Never ! And certainly not to The Golde Leaf Hotel

The hotel was located close to a metro station, there was no complimentary breakfast. The room and bed were both small. The biggest let down was the smell from the bathroom. The hotel was expensive. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Good hotel in a lovely city
I really enjoyed my stay at the Golden Leaf park hotel during my recent trip to the wonderful city of Munich! The room was spotless and everything felt really modern and well designed. We arrived earlier than the specified check in time so expected to be able to drop off bags only but the staff were able to get us a room within ten minutes which was really helpful. The location was pretty good, with Marienplatz only a 10/15 minute walk away and the beautiful Hofgarten about 5 minutes although there wasn't anything immediately by the hotel and it was on a very quiet road (good for getting a few hours of decent quiet sleep!). My only slight complaint was that the staff did not point out that in the corner of the reception (tucked out of sight) there was free tea/coffee making facilities as well as pastries and biscuits. We found this by accident when leaving the hotel! Had we known about it earlier it might have helped with the slight hangovers we both had after a bit too much Glühwein and beir the night before. Also free wi-fi was unavailable in the room and didn't work in the reception either which was annoying but we didn't ask staff about this so possibly something could have been done! Overall though the Golden Leaf park hotel exceeded my expectations and was a great hotel not far from the heart of Munich and I would certainly recommend and stay again!

We had two rooms booked and expected them to look like the pictures on the site, one did and the other did not - at all. One room was a closet size that was cramped and uncomfortable with a really tiny shower that flooded the bathroom floor. The tiny room has a dumb layout. The other room was great. The fact that there are no pictures of the more common tiny room seems like false advertising to me since the prices were the same. The parking garage was the stackable type and took several tries to get our car into. The staff were quite rude to us at times, didn't understand English hardly at all. The only thing this hotel had going for it was the location being convenient to get to the old town and museums and such. I would not stay here again and do not recommend this hotel at all because of the false advertising and terrible customer service.

This hotel is well located for getting into the city centre - 10 minutes by tram and is in easy walking distance of the English Garden one of Munich's most famous parks. There are numerous eating and drinking establishments nearby that offer great value for money. We choose room only as the breakfasts on offer locally are cheaper and better. Great for a weekend break.

Stayed during Oktoberfest so prices were very high. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking was a bit of a problem (not many spaces and awkward to park) and cost an extra EUR 15.00. Area great though - 10 minute walk to Maximilienstrasse with amazing shops and restaurants.
