Nice hotel situated in Munich's city centre

Posted Dec 19, 2014
Pros: It had almost everything I expect in a good hotel.
Cons: As I mentioned the coffee making machine and the beverages' making facilities.
Location: All important touristic attraction including the information centre and the main squares and the train stations are within walking distance.
We took the train from the airport straight to the hotel which took less than one hour and very reasonable price. We were welcomed by kind, helpful and friendly receptionists who helped to chick in promptly. A very friendly porter took to our room and carried our suite cases. We were pleased with our room; it was spacious, bright and overlooking the city centre, especially the cathedral and the mean square, were Xmas market was set. The room was very clean, comfortable beds, plenty of powerful lights and spacious bathroom. Our only problem was with the coffee maker; we couldn't get a real hot drink. We would have preferred a kettle, bigger cups and more milk and maybe a biscuit or two!

Outstanding hotel in a great location

Posted Dec 14, 2014
Pros: The location on the Karlsplatz and the hotel's appointments.
Cons: The restaurant is expensive but if you want cheap, McDonald's and Burger King are nearby.
Location: The Karlsplatz is in the center of Munich. The elegant medieval-style buildings in the area seem to be out of a fairy tale.
The Koenigshof is simple block of a building, nothing special from the outside. But the inside is elegant and comfortable and quiet despite the hotel's location in the center of bustling Munich. A stop on the railroad to the airport is just a few steps away from the hotel in the underground station under the Karlsplatz. Munich's main rail station is just two blocks away. The hotel staff are uniformly courteous, helpful, and bilingual -- English was no problem. I loved the hotel and the city and hope to stay at the Koenigshof the next time I'm in Munich.

woukd never go again

The hotel staff is wonderful... Location is great but the entire hotel needs to be redone. Carpeting is old and dirty throughout . The yellow carpeting in the rooms is black and stained and made my husband sick from the mustiness of the rooms. The walls are dirty and need to be repainted. Very disappointing and the worst hotel we stayed in in Europe. Not worth the money

Dear Shari, Although your comment on expedia is very disappointing for us, I want to thank you for it. I really regret that you did not like your room and of course understand your criticism very well. May I inform you the the Geisel Family as owners of our hotel are planning a total renewal of the Koenigshof. Nevertheless at the same time we are renovating one after the other room and in the meantime do offer a lot of rooms with wooden floor. Therefore we really would be happy to welcome you back and offer one of those rooms. Perhaps you will give us another chance, as you did like the location of our hotel as well as the service of our staff. I send you my best regards Martina Bindig Assistant to the Management

Fantastic Location, nice, old, a bit overpriced

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: location, location, location
Cons: could use some rennovation
Location: Right on Karlsplatz you can't get much more central. Walk out the front of the hotel and you are ready to explore Munich. The Marienplatz is a lovely 5 minute stroll down the old town walk way, past ancient churches and the area's oldest brewery (a must stop). The central train station is two or three blocks the other way down Bayerstrasse. Octoberfest is a nice 15 minute walk away (when it is running), there is a Karlsplatz station underground and street cars go right by the front of the hotel making everything easy to get to. Hotel: The hotel is pricey. The rooms are nice but old, some of the "oldness" is endearing and some not. Many of the rooms have lovely views over Karlsplatz, they all have comfy bedding and lush draperies. They have good Wifi but the rooms do not have workable business desks suitable for computer use. Paint is chipped here and there, the carpets are worn, it is on the edge of really needing to be renovated. Certainly so at this p[rice point. Service: Service was good. Nothing amazing but certainly very good. We did not eat at the restaurant because there were too many great places we needed to eat at and see in the area. I marked this review "would not recommend" only because it is too expensive for the offering. We stayed during Octoberfest and made a late booking with options left open. If you are in the same situation and don't mind the spend then this hotel is worth considering.

Dear guest Thank you for your detailed and honest report on your stay at our Hotel Königshof. It was a joy to read your kind words and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. It is quiet a vibrant atmosphere in Munich during the Oktoberfest and I am glad you got the chance to experience it. The two weeks the festival takes place is the highest season of the year. Therefore the prices are higher than usual. During regular season our prices start at 290,00€ including the breakfast buffet. We hope you give us the chance to welcome you again during a different time period. Best regards Martina Bindig Assistant to the Management

観光に便利な格式あるホテル

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: ホテルの方の対応が親切で細かなところまで気遣いがあり気持ち良く過ごすことが出来ました。
Cons:

This hotel was exactly what we expected - great location, excellent staff (they even let us speak German although their English was far better. We did not use the restaurant, but ate in the bar area one evening - again the food and the service was excellent. We will undoubtably stay there again when we are next in Munich.

Hotellet ser litt kjedelig ut fra utsiden, men inni er det supert ! Høy standard på betjening og rom. Utmerket frokost med trivelig spisesal. Kan absolutt anbefales.
