Cozy Hotel in a Great LocationPosted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Great location in a neighborhood setting Very friendly staff Onsite parking Modern facilities in a cozy, small hotel
Cons: The second bedroom of our 4 person suite (304) was not climate controlled, and the second person had to climb over the first person to get out of bed.
Location: 10 minute walk to Nymphenburg Palace 2 blocks from the Hirschgarten Beer Garden 10 minute trolley ride to the old city
We stayed four nights in this modern but cozy family run hotel. The onsite parking, great location and air-conditioning in a small hotel setting were the initial selling points of this hotel. The hotel is located in a neighborhood setting, that is easily accessible from the main Autobahns running north and west. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Nymphenburg Palace and Gardens, two blocks from Munich's largest beer garden, and two blocks from grocery stores and bakeries. The trolley stop, located three blocks from the hotel, is just a 10 minute ride to the main train station and old city. Train/bus/trolley tickets can be purchased at the hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English. We received great recommendations for things to do and places to eat around Munich. Very nice people. The onsite breakfast (additional charge) was delicious. In addition to a great selection of brötchen, they had different fresh baked loaves of bread each day along with the usual german breakfast fare. We were very pleased with our hosts, our room and our stay at this hotel.

A good base for work in MunichPosted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Clean, well-run, helpful staff, pleasant Continental breakfast with excellent serving assistance
Location: It is not far, by tram, from the centre of the city; at the same time, it is close to a stately home in extensive wooded grounds
The hotel is situated in a pleasant suburban location, with good tram connections to the centre of the town. It is well-run, efficient, and pleasant to stay in, although clearly it is modest rather than luxury in its character. The people on the reception desk spoke excellent English, and were a fund of useful information about the city - e.g. where to go for a range of computer and electrical supplies; what to have a look at if I had time spare after work, etc. It is somewhere to which I'd be happy to return. The only thing worth noting, is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms, and this might mean that it is rather warm in hot weather.

great location northwest of City centerPosted Jun 28, 2014
Location: Because we were so close to Nymphenburg Palace, we walked through the gardens each evening; a peaceful, lovely way to end the day.
Comfortable clean rooms, great location, excellent breakfast -- all these combined to make our stay in Munich top notch. Riding the tram to the Marianplatz was easy and convenient. We could buy our ticket at the front desk. Happily there was a space for our car in the parking lot. I highly recommend this hotel.

Quiet Hotel in Residential setting near BeergardenPosted Jan 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
I like staying here. Its affordable and not fancy- perfect for business and family travel. The breakfast is great- and the staff is friendly, efficient and helpful! I can walk to work or the S or U Bahn across the beauriful Hirschgarten.

This Was Quite Unexpected!Posted Jul 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
When we booked Hotel Kriemhild, we had an idea it was outside of downtown Munich and it is. We knew it was near a palace in Munich, so how far out could it be? It was near the summer palace, which back in the days it was built was about 1.5 hours out of the city by horse or horse drawn carriage. Hotel Kriemhild is not in the tourist, busy or commercial district of Munich, and that makes it all the better. We were not expecting a hotel in a residential neighborhood with no other hotels or tourists around, but that is what we got. It was wonderful in every way and I am so glad we made the choice. Picture a place where you get to eat, drink beer, and travel into the city like a native and you have the Hotel Kriemhild. Oh! We never had to go out for breakfast. The hotel serves a hearty breakfast for eight Euros. Breakfast has fresh baked bread, lots of German meats, all kinds of cheeses, 3 yogurts and every mix in you could want, fruit, coffee and more. This was a bargain. We went our second morning there and quickly learned do not miss their breakfast. It gets better as the mass transit in Germany runs like clockwork. Whenever we wanted to go somewhere the 16 and 17 tram took us right into the center of the city. They trams, subway, etc. run constantly. The stop is a 4 minute walk from the hotel.

Very Nice, Family-owned HotelPosted Mar 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel Kriemhild was a very nice, quaint hotel. The service was excellent. We were able to purchase public transit tickets at the front desk and they were very accommodating when we were not able to arrive before the check in hours ended. The location of the hotel is both a pro and con. It is about a 15 minute tram ride from the city center. The area is nice and quiet and perfect for families. But if you like to be close to the action, this location may not be the best fit.

Great hotel...great area!Posted Nov 22, 2011
Solo traveller visiting Munich for first time. Hotel is less that hour train/tram ride from airport. Easy to find. Bilingual staff very helpful in getting you settled in. Several restaurants nearby. Tram to main station in Munich several blocks away as is one of the worlds largest outdoor beer garden. Hotel does serve a light breakfast in morning which is a nice starter. Would definitely recommend.

Good value at a well run hotelPosted Jul 12, 2011
We're a family of four that stayed for 3 nights in early July. Overall the stay was very pleasant and I would recommend the hotel. Staff was very freindly and helpful and spoke English. Hotel was clean and well run. Family room that sleeps four was a little tight by American standards with one double bed and a pull out couch that my 11 and 13 year old slept in. Normally the pull out might have posed a problem because it was not that big or comfortable but the kids were so exhausted at the end of each day that they slept fine. The double bed was a little firmer than I like but somehow still comfortable and I slept well. The room was not air conditioned and did get warm. The windows are can be fully opened though and that helped tremendously in cooling the room off at night. But we also had relatively cool weather. I think the lack of AC would have posed a problem if the weather was warmer. Breakfast was okay. Typical european fair which is not what my family is used to. The adults were fine with it. The children not so much. The hotel is located a little further from the old city center than I thought when I booked the room but it worked out fine. It was close to a tram stop and a short 10 minute tram ride to the middle of town. It's actually located in a very nice residential neighboorhood with a couple of nice restaurants around that the staff was kind enough to recommend to us.

Perfect Hotel in Quiet SettingPosted Nov 3, 2010
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Kriemhild...........the staff was welcoming and so helpful with directions, etc. We had a quick 2 block walk (lovely Fall days) to get to the tram.........a short while later we were walking around the Marienplatz! Nearby is a bier garten--2nd largest in Muchich! That was also great fun with wonderful German food, bier and entertainment! We would recommend this hotel to anyone--we hope to be lucky enough to travel from the States to Munich again in the near future. If we do, we'll be back at the Kriemheld!
