The reviews are right!! This is really bad.Posted Nov 22, 2013
Cons: It needs to be closed, sorted and re-opened.
Location: The location is pretty good.
When booking, I thought this will be fine. It can't be as bad as the reviews. I was wrong. Simply, the pictures are not what you will see when you stay here. I booked and paid for 3 rooms £800 total. I checked in and walked straight out and got another hotel, losing my money. It was that bad. The reviews are right. The pictures are wrong. Dirty, no shower doors, shower hanging off, smelly. If you were to pay maybe £10-15 per night then ok...this is what you get..This is really a hostel and not a good one.

location was excellentPosted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: location and friendliness of staff in reception and adjoining restaurant where breakfast was served.
Cons: lick of paint and probably hard flooring the could be kept clean easily. A general makeover would be good.
Location: near to main station, quick two stop trip to Marianplatz with main shopping and superb market and lots of eating places. Not far from Dachau & zoo
Bedding and towels spotless, bed comfortable and breakfast facilities were good. The carpets were disgusting, you would not want to walk on them in bare feet. Outside frame of bottom of shower was yuck! Bottom of curtains stained and half of the curtains hanging off of track. Walls outside bathroom had been either thrown up on or had a cup of coffee thrown at them. Broken plug socket in bedroom, and chandelier fit for the bin with only two working bulbs. Bins only emptied once, on penultimate day. Could have been a nice place, needs a visit from our Hotel Inspector.

AvoidPosted Oct 24, 2013
Cons: Just about everything
Location: Close to main railway station and city centre
Without doubt one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. No plug in the sink, uncaring staff, didn't bother making up my room, most light bulbs either blown or missing, shower door missing and bugs in the room. Choice of breakfast - Ham and Cheese or Cheese and Ham.

Close to trainPosted Oct 12, 2013
Nice staff with a convenient location near the train station. Rooms need updating- ours had worn out stained carpet, broken curtain rods, and reeked of smoke. We had to sit in the stair well to get the wifi but had a nice basic breakfast in the morning.

Been around the world, Worst Hotel Ever ! DON'T GOPosted Oct 3, 2013
Pros: Absolutely Nothing! The little thing OK is maybe the location, but there are tons of REAL hotels around this one (Best Western, Marriott, etc...)
Cons: Hotel Modern in Munich is so bad, it's beyond Improvement...Please raze the place and rebuilt, or at minimum a total strip and makeover.
Location: Noisy, lots of strip-clubs, and bars on that street, very noisy even at 4 am...
I Traveled to many many places around the world, and this was THE Worst, Terrible experience ever with an hotel. As soon as I crossed the door, I wanted to go... I tried to book elsewhere no matter the price, but the city was totally booked. Rude Manager, Carpets are filthy, Shower has mold, Suspect stains everywhere. Very Noisy. Never felt safe. I paid 240 Eu /Night for that hole! No matter how cheaper this one is compared to any other, it's already way too much. even at 50 Eu, that would still be way too much... Now the horror story, I happened to loose the only key (yes a metal key) for my room and they didn't had any double!... They put the fault on me because I didn't wanted to let them my room key when I was going out. On my actual evaluation of the hotel, why would I want them to have access to my valuables stuff (Laptop, Ipad, Camera, Watch, etc...) knowing I am out of my room which doesn't have a safe? So they had me stay in a sort of even worst little 'janitor's room/storage' filthy room with no way to lock the door with soiled sheets and a towel to cover the floor for that night until noon. Of course no refund possible for that night! And.. To make things even worst, they had me to pay 150 eu for the employee to 'drill the lock'.. After 1:30 hour trying, they kicked in the door to get me access back to my room. They had me in hostage and they knew it, either I pay to 'unlock' the door or they let me out! ...Hotel Modern in Munich should be removed from Expedia!

VERY BAD HOTELPosted Oct 2, 2013
Dirty, unkept, stains, shower broken, substance abusers in the hallways.... About as bad and scary as it could get. Would have attached pictures but cell phone was stolen by cleaning staff from the room.

People over reactingPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: it's near the train station (HBF)
Cons: rooms could be a little better and they could include breakfast
Location: not that far from the old center
I would definitely suggest if you are on a budget or for any other reason. I read reviews about this hotel and I would say if you come to city to visit the city than this Hotel is O.K. the main downside of this hotel is: it has broken things in the hotel like shower cabin... however that doesn't mean you cannot take shower.
