Good location

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The breakfast at the hotel is amazing!!! It was included in the price of the hotel, and saved us money. Eggs, seafood, fruit, breads, blintzes, etc.
Location: Try the Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant next door to the hotel: SUPERB food for a song. We ate there twice!
This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station, and 10 minutes to the city center. Nice, bland facilities, which are clean and comfortable. The people at the front desk are helpful.

Close to U-Bahn

Posted May 24, 2014
Pros: Close to U-Bahn station and City Center.
Location: Easy access to Karlsplatz U-Bahn. From there you can get anywhere. Short walk to City Center.
A short walk from the München Hbf and very close to the Karlsplatz U-Bahn. A short walk to the City Center shopping district. A nice reasonable hotel to come back to after a day of sight seeing and dinner somewhere. For the price point and location it is a good value.

Convenient location to downtown shopping

Posted Apr 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was my 4th time that I've stayed at the Hotel Wallis, 3 times with student groups and this time by choice. Even though the surrounding neighbourhood is a little rough and noisy, it still is safe. This hotel is within easy walking distance from the train station and the main pedestrian zone which includes stores, restaurants, the Hofbräuhaus, the Marienplatz and the Frauen Kirche. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast is top-notch! This is my favourite place to stay whenever I'm in Munich.

Clean, Quiet Hotel

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: The Hotel was conveniently located near shopping and restaurants, and close to the train station. Breakfast was delicious and abundant.
Cons: We can think of nothing to improve.
Location: The location was so convenient to the shopping area and also the train station. There were plenty of restaurants nearby.
My wife and I spent one night at the Hotel Wallis. Our room was clean and quiet. The breakfast served the following morning was excellent. The Hotel was conveniently located near the old section of Munich and the Hofbrauhaus. We would definitely stay longer in the future.

Nice clean hotel, perfect location.

Rooms clean and a decent size. We were at the front of the hotel overlooking a busy road, noisy until nighttime when the hotel room has a blackout blind which keeps the noise out too!Good sized continental breakfast. 10 minute walk from the mariensplatz and beer houses.

Hotel Wallis is well located - short walk to the Munich's main train station & other public transport. The hotel is also only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Munich & main city shopping precinct.

Nice view of castle

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: View of castle and size of room.
Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Parking was difficult to find, but convenient to the hotel once we found the entrance to the garage.

Not particularly good value for money.

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Improving the bedding (quilts and pillows) would make a big improvement. Two devices on the wifi in a double room.
Location: It was close to the railway and the centre of Munich.
There was a lot of choice on the breakfast buffet, but the room where breakfast was served was small, cramped, windowless and uncomfortable due the constant activity of waitresses and guests, refilling the buffet and plates. Someone was always squeezing past, not a very relaxing start to the day. Our room was ok, think small travel lodge room. We were next to the laundry though so I was woken up by washing machines going early every morning. The pillows and quilts were inadequate. We had a king sized bed with two very small and thin single quilts on it. It was not a very comfortable arrangement. The pillows were not pillows, they were thin, uncomfortable and frankly horrible. Wifi was available -just one device per room which seemed mean in today's smartphone and mobile society. Overall I was glad when our stay was over.

Excellent central location

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: Very good choice of hot and cold food at breakfast. Other hotels were charging extra for breakfast.
Cons: Room a little noisy at the front of the hotel though the has been addressed with the introduction of shutters if people want to use them
Location: Short walk to the central train station and Marienplatz, designer shops and traditional restaurants
Excellent central location, close to local attractions / places of interest. Very good value for money which included very generous buffet breakfast. Staff very helpful. Room a little noisy as at the front of the hotel and a little warm, but would not put us off staying again as overall very impressed
