Pros: Position
Location: Marianpltaz was 15 min walk. The tour buses picked up around the corner. Dachau was an easy 40 min on underground train network.
Arrived in Munchen by train. Intercity hotel was very easy to find check in was smooth easily accessible to most things because of the convenience of the underground

Nice hotel with great access to the train station

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: We loved that the access to the trains was right there. And that it was only a few stops to Marienplatz.
Cons: The pillows on the bed were horrible and need to be replaced & definitely improve the outdated, worthless hair dryer in the bathroom...PLEASE!!!
Location: The location was exactly what we were hoping for and within minutes by train to Marienplatz & Viktrulian Market & Hofbrau House.
We were at the InterCityHotel Munchen for 2 nights and it was perfect for our quick tour of Munich. Very accessible & the staff was extremely hospitable & helpful to us. No question was left unanswered and all staff was very friendly.

Excellent for exploring Munich & environs

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: It's convenient location, handy for all the local transport. I liked the breakfasts. The room was comfortable The staff was efficient and helpful.
Cons: I can't think of anything.
Location: Adjacent to the main station, but not noisy. The Botanical Gardens are not far away. The city centre is close by.
I'd stayed here before and liked it. Easy to walk into the city centre and also to get the S-bahn and the U-bahn around the city from the Hauptbahnhof (main station). The hotel gave us free tickets to use on all the city transport, which saved us some money and avoided the inconvenience of having to buy tickets for each journey, or buying a day-ticket. The included breakfast was good - German sausage, cheese, ham, yoghurt etc. but also some hot dishes. The rolls were wonderful. There is a back way into the hotel from the station (Hauptbahnhof) concourse, which saves time. We went on a day-excursion to Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castles and Oberammergau on the edge of the Alps and also a trip out to Freising to look at the cathedral. We went out to Nymphenburg Palace, within Munich, on a 17 tram from the front of the station. There is plenty of beer and wine everywhere and loads of filling and tasty food. We sometimes bought snacks from the excellent selection in the station and ate in our rooms to save money at lunchtime. The city centre (Marienplatz) is 10 minutes walk away or you can use the S- or U-bahn. We also went to Lake Starnberg, about 30 minutes to the south, and had a trip on the lake with the Alps in the background.

At train station and airport shuttle, still quiet

I slept better than I had slept in 2 weeks in Europe. Quiet, clean, and central to sites.

Ok if all you need a place close to train station

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Location close to main train station.
Cons: Just about everything else.
This hotel is close to the main train station which is the only good thing about it. The rooms are incredibly small, the pillows were awful, the sink drain was clogged, the blow dryer was from the 1970's and the hotel was surrounded by homeless Germans begging or staring at you as you walked by. I would not recommend staying here. Not sure how it has a 4 star ranking.

Good hotel close to the central station

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Like many hotels in Europe, there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Location: Very convenient location but also next to the central rail station which can be a problem
Conveniently located for tourist stay being next to the station and tourist office where most events start. Staff were polite and the rooms a standard European type, small but clean

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Hotel location is ideal for a day in transit, easy walking distance to the city center, airport transfer bus leaves within walking distance, even with luggage. As with many train stations, there are all sorts of people hanging around, a few blocks away and you are in the main city center with its attractions. Décor is a bit dated and is about due for some renovations, nothing that wouldn't stop us from staying here again though. Breakfast buffet was much better than expected, only thing missing was dark bread.

Great Added Value

Nice clean comfy rooms. Helpful staff. The highlights of this hotel were the breakfast ( included) and the access to the central train station. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet, not just juice and coffee! The hotel gave us passes to ride the transit for free - we took advantage of the great transit system in Munich at no cost. What a nice bonus.
