“Nice hotel”
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during Oktoberfest. The hotel is very close to the Harras subway stop which made getting into center city very easy. The rooms were nice and clean, and the front desk staff was very helpful. As far as the area, there is not much directly around the hotel so it is limited as far as eating out, but we overall enjoyed our stay.
“Very average to poor experience.”
This hotel is right in the middle of a lot of construction. The train stop has a temporary plywood walkway up and over the tracks, which makes it quite a climb with luggage. no direct ramp access at the moment. It's walking distance to Oktoberfest, so that is a plus. However, the neighborhood is quite bland. Were it not for the wonderful, friendly and capable staff at the desk and in the restaurant, I would not stay here. As it was, I had a teeny, tiny, single room for a big rate (more than the Ritz-Carlton in Berlin) This was explained to me, "it's Oktoberfest"- despite the fact I had booked my room two months in advance and had paid a double rate. The air conditioning did not work, the room stayed hot all day/night and I could not open the window due to massive construction or street noise just outside. I left early. can't afford to lose two night's sleep. This is a lackluster place. Without the pretty amazing people working there, there is no redeeming quality, that would cause me to recommend this hotel.
“Hotel in Munich”
This is very good and nice hotel. It will be my first choice for my future trips.
“Great Value! Clean!”
Awesome hotel in great location! Right next to a subway station that takes you to all major attractions within 10-15 minutes. The service was great and the room was spotless. The hotel was a great value but rooms are small compared to American standards. However, this was not a big deal since we were out and about exploring Munich.
“Clean, comfy and convenient!”
Our room tho small was comfortable, quiet and cleaned thoroughly daily. The staff was friendly and always helpful. The wifi didn't work very well in the room, but worked well in the lobby. The convenience of both the underground and above ground trains was wonderful! This was a pleasant experience, in spite of the poor work on the part of Expedia, ordering a single room and bed for this married couple, which hotel fixed upon our arrival.
“Pleasant Stay”
I stayed here for 4 nights and the hotel met my needs. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful with the exception of one gentleman. I had a single room and while it is small it has many shelves. The bed was very comfortable. I found the room to be a bit warm even though I turned the AC on. It was cooler in the hallways. My room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. My sheets were not changed during my stay even though it was soiled. I asked to use the iron (there's no iron in the room) and was surprised the ironing board was badly stained. It is not the quality I expect from a 4 star hotel. Hotel is located off the beaten path - 6 stops to Marienplatz if you take the S7 (runs every 20 minutes) or 5 stops if you take the U6. The U6 runs more often but it is currently under construction and you have to take the shuttle bus to another station to catch your connections. I would definitely stay here again if the price is reasonable.
“Will definitely stay here again. Just be weary of construction.”
K&K was great! The location is perfect because it is very quiet at night and perfectly situated in front of the U6 Harras stop which gets you directly to the Marienplatz and English Gardens. The only bad thing is that it is FAR from quiet during the day due to construction going on directly in front and on the side of the hotel. Ask for a room opposite from the school. As far as the actual hotel goes, it has everything you could need - cheap parking in a private garage, a wonderfully priced mini-bar, clean rooms, comfortable bedding, air conditioning, a friendly English-speaking staff, a quiet and safe location, and free baby cribs when available. The only complaint I have is that the water pressure is kind of low and the AC in our room did not get cold at all. We had it running on 5 Celsius at full blast for several hours and the temp didn't change at all. Other than that it was a great place to stay. My husband and I will definitely be coming back to Munich and staying with K&K again. Best. Location. Ever. *If you are American military living in Germany and reading this, there is an Esso station 700 meters from the hotel. It is also very easy to get to from the highway without having to go far into Munich. Also, the Hard Rock Cafe gives a 15% discount to military members and their spouses with a valid I.D. card.
“Outstanding Hotel at Excellent Value, European Class & Polish”
I know Munich well, having been stationed there from 1978 - 1982. K&K is out from the City center Marienplatz but is connected by a direct line U-bahn. the ammenities are first rate for a european hotel.Parking in Munich is non-existent to dreadful until you are at the very outskirts of the city. K&K has a extremely limited & TIGHT parking. Parking in their garage without scratching your rental is a driver's test. Every centimeter counts, said the desk clerk-- and she was right. If you can do without a car, do so. Check out the parking garage before you try to put your rental in there. This is a function being located in a medieval city with a population of almost 1.5 million, not an oversight of the hotel. After all it is not a motel. Italian ice & cappucino, bakeries, grocery, Mcdonalds and pizza all very near to Am Harras. I would check in again tomorrow if I could. Very Polished and Professionally Managed.
“The perfect short-term businessman's hotel”
The room was small but clean and comfortable. The wired internet was fast and free. The staff of the hotel were very warm and helpful and made me feel very welcome. I would be very happy to go back. Don't expect luxury, but if you need place to stay at night while you are out working in the daytime, it's perfect. The subway is just outside and you are in the center of the city within minutes.
“Great value”
the hotel was not in the center of town but a nice neighborhood with lots of food options within a couple of blocks, including a great bakery. The U-bahn and S-bahn are only a block away so great access to the city.
