Good hotel, terribly noisy street

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: Warm and welcoming with excellent initial impression, and helpful reception staff.
Cons: Reduce the price of breakfast.
Location: The street is not run down, but certainly very noisy, which did not abate during the night. If you are into casinos or gentlemen's clubs ok.
This hotel is welcoming and in contrast to the street in which it is located. Nearby, a number of casinos and gentlemen's clubs have opened and the walk from the railway station was at times a little uncomfortable with people lurking in doorways. During the night the air conditioning was helpful but with the window opened the noise from outside was so bad that sleep was impossible. Trams run all night, albeit at a reduced frequency, and their noise alone would make sleep difficult. However, keeping the window closed would help tremendously. The reception staff were helpful and polite, and the ambience good. I would consider staying there again as the room was good with excellent shower and bathroom facilities. Breakfast, at 18 euros, is expensive and alternatives at the main railway station, about 8 minutes away are available.

Convenient, good value, good service

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Value, location
Casinos, lingerie shops, etc surround the hotel. A little noisy at night, especially if you have the windows open. Not a bad area, but not family friendly. Very near the train station and to the tourist office. Many tours leave from the train station. Room was clean and staff very helpful. We did not eat there, so I cannot comment on that. Definitely a good value for the money.

Nice hotel with comfortable beds

Good location near the train station and town center. Bed was especially comfortable. Room was quiet on the 5th floor with the window shut. Good air conditioning.

Location and comfort

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Location. Staff. Room comfort and cleanliness
Cons: Nothing
Location: Close to botanic gardens and city centre is very conveniently walkable (10 mins) Hauptbarnhoff is literally 150m away so airport and subway easy.
Close to central rail station, walking distance to Marienplatz...perfect. Staff lovely....very welcoming whether checking in, breakfasting or having a cocktail in the evening. Nothing too much trouble. Room was spotless and bed super-comfy. Only stayed 2 nights, wish we were staying longer. Not the cheapest but fantastic value for money.

Dodgy street

Posted Aug 25, 2014
The staff were really friendly and helpful, the only criticism is the breakfast staff weren't very attentive. The biggest problem with Kings first class is the street it's situated on. It's very noisy at night as there is an Asian club opposite with gangs of men on the street from 7pm onwards. Two doors down there is a lap dancing club where one morning a man was being arrested at breakfast time. The trams run right outside every 15 minutes until 3am making the walls vibrate, trying to sleep at night was very difficult what with all the noise. It's a shame as the hotels common areas eg lounge is nice, the rooms are ok and the front desk staff were helpful in putting the football on in the bar. The tv in the room had only 1 English entertainment channel that sometimes turned german. Breakfast is very expensive at 8.50 euros for a croissant, egg and a cup of tea so we'd recommend going to coffee fellows for a cheaper option.

Well placed for sight seeing

Posted Aug 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel needs updating, very dated decor and furniture. Friendly helpful staff, minutes from city centre, secure parking at the back but pay extra. Nit somewhere for a romantic getaway but ok as an overnight or ease of access to the centre.

Very pleasant.

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Very pleasant visit
Location: Restraunts are interesting - authentic Bavarian. Churches are lovely. The city tour will take you to castles, museums and churches.
The hotel is located in central Munich and is within walking distance of the trains, tour buses and shopping. It is clean and comfortable. There are many good restraunts within walking distance as well as churches and museums.

Great Hotel near the main train station

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Love the staff and quality of the room. Highly recommend Kings Hotel 1st class.
Cons: Had to ask for shampoo everyday because they have a soap dispenser in the tub.
Location: As stated before you are close to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), so you have quick and total access to everything.
We had stay here before so we knew we would have a great room with great service. Be warned breakfast is not included, so you will have to pay 18 euro per person. There are several close bakeries so we ate out each morning. Very close to two great Beer Gartens (Augustiner and Lowenbrau). The staff is fantastic and you can book tours and city passes at the front desk. Everyone speaks English, so if you don't speak German "Keine Problem". The staff takes the time to make sure you are comfortable and understand the answers to all of your question. The WiFi is free, but must register each day. The hotel has a bar and has several "Donar" (German street food) very close for that late night snack. A must is the tours to Neuswanstein and Herrenchimsee. Munich is an easy town to get around, and has several great Museums. Make sure you visit the Nymphenberg Palace just outside the city. With the train station so close you easily visit wonderful places like Salzburg or Oberammergau. Great city in the heart of Bavaria.
