“No frills but convenient location to the train station.”
This hotel is within 15 minutes walking distance from the central train station. The staff wasn't that enthused to accommodate me when I needed to ask a question regarding the internet services, which cost 2 euros per 1 hour. The beds were extra small, even by European standards. The tv was a plus, but the only 2 English channels were muted. The shower has a step-up of around a foot, which may be difficult for some with leg or knee problems. Further, one should bring his/her own toilet tissue as this hotel's was like sandpaper. Besides the convenience of a 15 minute walk from the central train station, this hotel is located directly across the street from the Augustiner brewery, which is excellent. I would recommend this hotel if someone is looking for the most basic accommodations. But for the price, it seems it could offer more.
“Good option for younger crowd”
This is a hostel. It was our first experience at one, but I had an idea of what to expect. Our en suite room was tiny, but utilized very well with two twin beds, TV, shelves, and a desk. The bathroom was actually nicer than a few of the other hotels we stayed at. The heater could be intense, but with the window cracked it wasn't a problem. The noise was louder than other places, as expected, but calmed down around 11pm. There was a large lounge with computers, TVs, and vending machines. There is a laundry room in the basement and a non-secured (why?!) luggage room. The front desk had information about the area, but was very understaffed the morning we checked out. It was a bit of a hike from the train station, maybe 15-20 min with our packs, but there is a tram that runs right in front of the hostel. My husband and I only stayed one night.
“it's cheap”
The room was not at all like the picture shown in the internet.The room was very small. It was still far from the train station .There was a hotel right across the train station. That would have been better.Hotels/motels close to the train station should be published in the Eurail add-to make it convinient & easy on the traveler. Also, consider the lower rate hotels.I liked the free breakfast we got.
“Satisfactory”
This hotel was extremely expensive compared to all our other bookings in a month in Europe. We paid more at this place than at two luxury hotels in Switzerland. Clean, reasonable location, internet access but definately not worth what we paid.
“Rest easy in Munich”
Safe, clean, affordable hostel for our family of five. We had a family room with twin bunks and two double beds. Bathroom towels required a small deposit which is returned to you after your stay. The staff was friendly and spoke fluent English. We had some difficulty finding the location even with the GPS since the hotel's marquee outside clearly spelled "hostel" rather than the advertised name. Also, the elevator seemed quite small and rickety so our family hiked up six flights of stairs. It wasn't a problem for us since we're relatively healthy people, but that could be a problem for older guests or people with disabilities. Nonetheless, if you decide to brave the elevator you can save yourself the trouble.
