The room we had on the first night was old and needed to refurbished , we asked for another room and they moved us the second night to a refurbished room that was beautifully done . Only complaint was as it was warm and with it being on the street frontage it was a bit noisy with the window open but we still got enough sleep

Not the best choice
My reservation couldn't be found at reservation, but the receptionist was very helpful and finally found it after pulling some tricks in their it system. The hotel is not very clean and you expect a higher standard för 114 euro per night in a non central location. But the staff are very helpful and wonderful. The hotel gets a 2 and the staff a 5.

This was a very last minute stay, and was chosen for it's close proximity to the train station and affordability. For this reason, obviously it is not going to be a 5 star experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and reasonably sized. The building is just very old. The red carpet throughout the room had definitely seen better days. Overall, it was a good place to stay in a pinch.

I would pay more for a better hotel.
The area around the hotel is average. I was quite surprised to find a twin bed with two separate small comforters. I was equally surprised to find the shower in the common area of the bathroom. The thought of the water washing away from around the toilet while I showered was very unsettling.

Woof. Not as advertised, but great staff.
The staff was great and very helpful and kind. That said.. the room was *not* as advertised online and was extremely disappointing almost to a comical level. Most of the photos show renovated rooms, and the non-renovated rooms shown in the photos were MUCH nicer looking than what our room was. Carpet peeling up from the ground, unreliable lights, shower sprayed everywhere in the bathroom (no curtain), fridge smelled like it was sitting in an alley for months, no wall paneling or headboard for the bed as shown in the listing photos, etc. This was during Oktoberfest, so the room was much more expensive than usual (we were in town for a wedding, not Wiesn), so that made it even more frustrating.

Das Hotel wird aktuell teilweise renoviert wurde uns gesagt. Wir hatten leider ein kleines Doppelzimmer, das noch nicht renoviert wurde. Es war aber sauber und mit Blick auf einen kleinen Garten. Für eine Nacht auf jeden Fall okay!

It was fine overall. Just very small and expensive for the size. I guess I’ll chalk that up to Oktoberfest. Not a very comfortable room but I suppose it could have been worse.

The location is great, just a short tram ride into central Munich. The room is smaller than it looks and the walls are thin as you can heat your neighbour in the next room. I had the breakfast only once as it was expensive and there are plenty of places within walking distance. Staff are happy to answer your questions. Would stay here again.

Every moment spent in the hotel room was a reminder that the walls were thin as paper. In the morning we woke up to a male neighbor being sick in the restroom for an hour or more. Each door opening and closing, each individual walking and talking in the hallway sounds as if it is in your personal room. The room had one outlet in the living space and one in the bathroom. This is not ideal when you have to use European outlet converters to charge phones, watches and medical devices. The room was stuffy and there was no ceiling fan or fan provided. Also no iron or steamer and no hair dryer. I was forced to leave for daily events with soaking hair in 40 degree weather. The room did not have a door tag for service. We requested a tag and did not receive a tag. Finally on the fourth day our beds were turned but we did not receive fresh towels, a garbage change, or removal of a pizza box, fresh glasses, or dirty coffee cups. We had to place the trash in the hallway to clean our own room. The initial morning a female attendant told us breakfast was complimentary. However the second day a kitchen attendant told us we were being charged for breakfast. Also the picture on the website is not an accurate description of the hotel appearance.

Leaking toilet, filthy walls, insects in the room, poor ventilation, cramped tiny room. On the plus side good location, only 3 stops on the tram to the main station. Friendly staff.

A bit outside the city but it is just a quick cab ride away. The only negative experience in the room was that there was no AC. Luckily it was cool enough at night that I hardly noticed. The service was great

Nice hotel for an overnight stay
Staff were lovely. Location of hotel was in the business sector of Munich. A 20min walk from the train station. Various shops nearby. Wifi was slow. No hair dryer in the bathroom. Handy 24 hour front desk that allowed me to check out at 5am to catch my train home.

Good Value Hotel in Munich
Great service. Hotel is a bit on the old and small side but it is in a great location and has great people running it. I would stay here again.

If you are looking for a bed only, this is your place. Location is convenient, the staff was helpful but the price for the size and quality was a little steep. It is possible that the prices were high due to Oktoberfest.

Decent location in midtown Munich.
Close to shops and some restaurants. Close to the tram station. Decent breakfast buffet with good price. Basic room and amenities. Good for the basic accommodating traveler. But not for the exquisite traveler. All in all, I would recommend for someone with a decent buggy will get there money's worth.

A basic room. If you need a desk then look elsewhere. Also wifi was not very good. I had connection issues with 2 different devices that kept having to reconnect. Location was OK and close to transit options. Fairly quiet neighborhood.

Hotel condition was worse than expected for the price I paid, but it's in a good location and was decent enough overall. If travelling to Munich again I'll try to book elsewhere, but I wasn't super bummed about this hotel.

Right on the price
The bed, shower and breakfast was perfect and that's what I care for when on a business trip. The location was a stone's throw away from the tram system and the front desk was very helpful and polite.

I booked the Hotel through Hotels.com and had a confirmation email from them number 8051575447554. Unfortunately Hotels.com did no get confirmation from the hotel and when I arrived they were fully booked. The receptionist was very helpful ringing round trying to find a room in Munich for some time but with no success. I ended up sleeping on a bench in the airport.

Montree Hotel Review
It has very thin walls. You can hear everything happening next door. The hallways smelled of smoke.I guess it is fairly clean, though because it is quite old there were old stains in the bathroom and peeling wall paint. They disregard do not disturb signs on your door and clean your room anyway. Leave windows open in your room during winter. It is close to a tram station and if you want you can walk 20-30 mins to Munich Central Train station.

Great location (near a underground station and in front of a tram station). Near a supermarket as well! Great staff and good room (a little bit small) but very clean and comfortable.
