“Great hotel”

The location of this hotel can't be beat. Right in the heart of old Munich. Munich is not a city you want to stay in the outskirts. My room was very comfortable and clean. Front desk staff was very helpful and polite. They all spoke reasonable English and couldn't have been nicer. The morning breakfast - complimentary- is outstanding

“Great hotel”

I spent four days at the Platzl. My friends spent the same time at a much more expensive hotel in the same neighborhood. The Platzl had friendlier, more helpful staff. There was a great breakfast included in the price of the room and free internet was available. The rooms were always clean and they left TWO chocolates. It is also an excellent location.

“A wonderful stay in Munich”

localization places this hotel at the heart of Munich,making it a pleasure to walk,shop and dine.The staff is very friendly and helpful when leaving the hotel for a walk it started to drizzle,to our surprise we were offered a umbrella.The food was excellent.When in Munich we'll return to Platzl Hotel.

“Great Location”

This a wonderful charming hotel. The staff are very polite and helpful. The location is very convenient to restaurants, shopping and touring. Also the train is only a couple of blocks away as well. The breakfast is a must. Would definitely come back again!

“fabulous location”

The Platzl Hotel was within walking distance of the Marienplatz with clock tower, residenz, Hofbrauhaus and many shops and restaurants (Even a Hard Rock Cafe around the corner if you miss American food!) We did request the quiet side of the hotel away from the Hofbrauhaus because the singing can get loud. Service was good and the rooms clean. They do have a small garage ramp below the hotel that we parked our rental car in for an extra charge. The only problem we had with the hotel room was that the bathroom outlet was up over the top of the mirror pointing down and when I plugged in the adapter for my blow dryer, it would fall out because it was too heavy to stay in place. We overall enjoyed our stay very much and would love to go back someday.

“Munich's charming-est hotel”

We were immediately greeted in English by the Platzl's very friendly, efficient staff. They made us feel right at home and oh-so-welcome. Our room was lovely and large and very complete with all the amenities -- hair dryer, robes, slippers, mini bar, even cotton balls and a nail file. The bed was cushy and very comfortable. The feather pillows weren't too fluffy, which was appreciated. We whole-heartedly welcome this hotel and would stay there again and again. We were very comfortable and felt very welcome by all the staff.

“Perfection in Munich”

We have been to Munich many times before but never stayed in the central city as we were there to attend to aging family. Sadly they have all gone on. This trip was all about us and really enjoying Munich. The Platzl was the Perfect location about two blocks off the Marienplatz and just around the corner from the Hofbrau Haus you cant get any closer to the action than that. We decided to take the junior suite as we know from past experiences that the typical german hotel room can be well a bit cozy?. the suite was well sized with separate parlor and bedroom as well as a separate WC and shower areas, the shower has great water pressure. The beds (as always it seems) are hard by American standards but not too bad. The pillows were a bit soft The TV choices in english are limited (maybe TNT or USA would be a good choice) but I did not really come to watch TV. The food in the Breakfast room was everything we expected and more, being acquainted with the customary Munich hotel breakfast from previous trips (which was always good) the Platzl takes it up a notch or two. The selections are varied and tasty, I especially liked the cured meats and the ability to order eggs and of course the fabulous Munchener weisswust made it all the better. The service was accommodating The front desk staff was friendly, helpful and informative, kudos to them. Our room was well kept each day and we felt very comfortable there. If you are looking for 1st class accommodations, This is it!

The hotel was in a perfect location for exploring Munich. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms were very comfortable. THe breakfast was very good as well. I would definitely stay here again on a return visit to Munich.

“Favorite small hotel in Altstadt Munich”

Great beds, small comfortable rooms, spotless, excellent European breakfast buffet, attentive staff, small lobby bar, best location near Marienplatz, Hofbrauhaus across the street. I always stay at the Platzl when visiting Munich.
