The room was clean and comfortable. The in-room jacuzzi was my wife's favorite.
“Home away from home”
Homemade cookies at the front desk in the evening! The ladies at the front desk were absolutely the friendliest people. Free upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi. They had an issue with their computer but allowed me to use the one at the front desk to print anything I needed. I will definately stay there again.
This hotel was clean and nice. Staff was helpful. Actually had a good breakfast of eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels and more. Nice pool and hot tub. Very recommended!
“great family place”
The only issue we had was that there was a rush of people for breakfast and the staff had problems trying to keep the food and paper supplies replenished. I would have liked to have sensed more urgency from the young lady working the area. We had to ask her to get more milk, bread and bagels. She could have been more observant and more efficient. But, she was polite and willing to go and find more food.
“Convince after the park”
The staff was very nice! The room was very nice! The free breakfast was ok! I would stay again!
“Well appointed hotel near Michigan Adventure, hot tub room was great!”
Nice hotel. Even though the exterior looks outdated, the inside is up to par and cozy. Has an indoor pool, but you know how relaxing those can be with kids screaming and their screeching voices reverberating off the walls to pierce your tired ear drums. The hot tub was drained as if someone may have had an accident. But there was one in our room which compensated for it. We were a bit hesitant to use it knowing what occurs in hotel in suite hot tubs, but it was actually freshly bleached and very clean. I must say for 90 bucks on a holiday weekend, it was the perfect stay. The other places in the area were so overpriced. It was only about a 10-15 minute drive from Michigan Adventure so it worked out awesome. There are a lot of great places to get a bite to eat in the little town its next to also, especially the Asian buffet. All in all, a great place to stay.
I read some of the reviews before I booked this hotel..some were good some not so good. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The hotel has just been remodeled, I found it to be clean and comfortable. My kids had a great time too..and it is close to Michigan's Adventure and the beach!
“Nice staff but loud clientele and doors”
Children were running up and down the halls, slamming doors, crying, what have you. I felt as if I were in a 24/7 amusement park. The doors to every room closed with such a ferocity the walls shook. I imagine the indoor pool for sun starved Michiganders is the reason, but for those of us wanting a peaceful nights sleep I would suggest finding lodgings else where.
There are two main areas of concern. 1.) If you want ice from the machines get it early. There are two ice machines and one was broken. The other machine could not keep up with the customers. We tried getting ice several times with no ice from the machine. We stayed a couple of nights and the ice machine was never fixed. 2.) The breakfast area is not adequate. Everyone wants waffles and there is only one waffle maker. there are people waiting for the waffle maker and it is right next to the juice machine and they are both in a corner where two other lines come together. Everyone ends up in the corner where people are waiting for waffles and juice. This was so frustrating that regardless of how good you sleep you walk away from breakfast wondering why anyone would come back. The breakfast is not a perk. If you want to enjoy your time I would suggest going to a restaurant to eat breakfast or find a place to stay that is setup better for breakfast. I will say the people that are working at providing breakfast are doing what they can but just don't have the area or equipment to make it work well. To reiterate the breakfast area is much to small for this size motel and is not laid out properly. Suggestion: Get another waffle maker so there are 2. Move the waffle makers and juice out of the corner so they do not interfer with people getting thru the rest of the breakfast line. More tables and chairs are also needed.
