Location, location, location.... But very nice accommodations!Posted Sep 5, 2011
First, the good: this is clearly a very new hotel, that paid attention to the design and style of the rooms. It was quite modern, appealing, and comfortable.... although a couple might take issue with the 'double' bed being two separate twins pushed together and made up separately. (all rooms might not be that way) And once I figured out how to close the storm window shutters that were banging in the wind all night, it was nice and quiet. Now the critique: this hotel's address was simply Kalo Livadi, a beach area. And maps showed it fairly close to the beach. In fact, it's located in the outskirts of Ano Mera, a more inland town. And don't trust google maps to find it. It sent me right to a beach that wasn't even Kalo Livadi. It took me nearly two hours to find the actual hotel, since almost no one in actual Kalo Livadi had even heard of this hotel. (part of that is my own fault, since my cell phone wasn't working and I couldn't call to get better directions.... I thought I could trust the google map location.) The hotel is also in a relatively new development. Surrounding lots will probably improve with time, but at my stay, the view was basically of a construction site. It's a mix of upscale homes, this hotel, and empty or developing lots. In sum, this is a gret place to stay if you have wheels and don't need a view or a beach within walking distance. My rate was great for the comfort of the room. But if you want more atmosphere, find something closer to an actual beach.
