Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The ocean view rooms are beautiful to wake up to, rooms are very clean. Close to everything, including quad bike hire. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel with excellent view of the city

Posted Aug 23, 2014
I loved the hotel and the view of the city was just breath taking. The daily breakfast was delicious and the hotel facilities and rooms were well kept. Unfortunately, It requires a 10 min daily hike to get to the main city. I do not recommend this hotel if you are not fit or comfortable walking rocky slippery trails or paths. We did noticed a lot of people rented scooters/ vespas and cars. That is another option for transportation. Getting a cab was not easy due to a shortage in the island but there was a bus stop not too far we took to elia beach and it was just beautiful.

great location. fantastic view of Mykonos, the port and the sea. Pity it is so close to the main street, very noisy, especially at night, a lot of traffic until 5am!

Not for me, misleading write up.

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Very unhappy with the location, my room was to be a mountain view, which I paid AU$400 per night, instead I was given a cabin within the mountain that faced a white wall. The room was tiny. Worst of all this hotel only has wifi in the reception lobby, this is misleading as the write up offered wifi in my room. Further because I was in the mountain, I could not get any cellular mobile reception I had to walk about 15m from my hidden tucked away room to get a signal. The town was 15 minutes walk if you wanted to take dingy steep hill alleyways (not pleasant at night) or 40 min walk (main road). I wouldn't stay here again not recommend to anyone. The advert was misleading and I left feeling disappointed and ripped off.

Great hotel with fantastic views over Mykonos town

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: The style, the people and the location.
Cons: A few more sunbeds around the pool...
Location: The hotel is just up the hill from Mykonos town. It's a 5 minute stroll down into the centre of town where you will find lots of restaurants and bars.
We had a lovely vacation at Alkyon Hotel in Mykonos. The hotel was very nice, the views were great and the people were fantastic. We strongly recommend the hotel and make sure you get a see view apartment the morning and evening views and well worth the extra money! We recommend hiring a car so that you can travel around the small island and visit the various beaches. The Alkyon staff will arrange the car hire for you!

Great Location and Fabulous View

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Pool area and staff
Location: 10 minute walk to shops and bars.
I must say that our overall experience at Alkyon was great. We did encounter a slight problem upon check-in as they had only one (1) room available, even though we had reserved and pre-paid for two (2) rooms. The management mistakenly cancelled one of the rooms based on the fact that both were under the same name and interpreted it as an error. Even though this was definitely not a good start, they quickly did everything possible to make sure that we had a pleasant stay. We agreed to take a large room (they reimbursed cost of second room) which easily accommodated a queen size bed, plus queen sofa bed, and extra twin sofa bed (trust me, it was large). Because we were only staying for one night in Mykonos, we decided that it wasn't worth changing hotels, etc, although they offered to help us move to another hotel if needed. The hotel is managed by a family who welcomes you with a smile and works hard to make sure that you everyone is comfortable and happy with their stay. Located just above the center of Mykonos town (10 minute walk) with a view from the pool that is just amazing. Please understand that this is not a 4 star US hotel and its better never to compare. If you have traveled to Europe, you understand what I mean. It is a very comfortable, clean, and typical Greek Island hotel that offers a great experience. This is a place to go and relax, sit by the pool drinking a fabulous Mojito, and enjoying one of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see.

Small friendly beautiful hotel

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: Staff, view, location.
Very friendly staff welcome you through to the room and the pool. Fantastic views over Mykonos town, 10 minute walk to the heart of town, your glutes will get a good work out on the way back! If you want a view, get sea view, my mountain view didn't quite make mountain. I would definitely want to return here for another stay.

A bit of walk to downtown, uphill.

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The view from lobby and swimming pool.
Location: Located up in the hill. Walking distance about 15 mind to downtown, but walking back could be longer due to uphill.
Hotel stuffs were extremely helpful. The hotel is clean and great view from swimming pool and lobby. The breakfast was standard, but great view from dinning area, except there is a house kind of blocking the view. So don't expect a full view. The only problem is the walk from the hotel to downtown. Not a nice walk with foul smell along the way. Walking back can be a challenge for older folks and if the day is hot. Taking taxis will have to wait in line.

Outstanding experience, wonderful staff, beautiful

Posted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: Staff headed up by Sophie, location
Location: Easy walk down the hill to mykonos town shops and restaurants.
We stayed there in late may with our two adult children and had a wonderful experience. Family owned, excellent service. Sophie at the front desk was gracious friendly and very helpful. The hotel is located on a hill slightly above Mykonos town with beautiful views. Easy walking distance to town, although better be in good shape for the walk back up! Beautiful pool with great bartender Chris! They pay great attention to impeccable cleanliness - they wash the out door marble veranda and steps. They have a hotel van, so email them ahead of time and they can pick you up from the ferry. Very good breakfast included.
