Nice view / very small room

Posted Sep 16, 2014
The room was very small with little room for the luggage, etc. Not many facilities in this hotel. The balcony and the view from the balcony were great. A bit expensive I would say.

Nice hotel, miniature pool

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: The rooms were comfortable and clean. The air conditioning worked very well, although it was very dry while sleeping. The staff were helpful.
Cons: The pool is almost non-existent and feels as if it adjoined to a private suite. We didn't feel welcome to use it.
Location: Easy access to Mykonos town and a 10 minute walk to the Fabrica bus stop to Paraga and Paradise Beaches.
We had a great stay at the Portobello Boutique Hotel. It is THE place to watch the sunset, the views are truly amazing. The hotel is cute and small, with a little boutique feel and the buffet breakfast served each morning was simple, but delicious.

Good location, but overpriced

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: The staff was absolutely amazing
Cons: The curtains are too sheer and let too much early sunlight. No air conditioning when you leave room. Free shuttle service from ports like other hotels
I enjoyed my stay at portobello. The staff was extremely friendly and personal. The location was great and you could walk into the main part of town from there. They also have a delicious breakfast spread and a beautiful breakfast view looking over the town of Mykonos. The pool is much too small to be called a pool and was never used when we stayed there. There is no free shuttle to or from the port, and they charge a lot to "arrange" a taxi ride. Other Hotels In the area provided a free shuttle. The curtains are too sheer and let a lot of light in when the sun rises. Also there is no option for air conditioning when you leave the room. The Portobello is a nice hotel, however with the price we paid I did expect a little more to offer.

Fabulous hotel and staff

Exceptional in every way. Hotel occupies a hill side position with a view from our balcony window across Mykonos towm and its busy harbour to die for. Yet its is literally 3 minutes from shops and restaurants just down a few flights of steps ( a bit more challenging coming back up but well worth the short ascent). Hotel staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The accommodation was spotlessly clean - bed linen and towels changed daily. I would highly recommend this hotel and its staff and this is borne out by the visitors books in the foyer crammed full of glowng compliments from satisfied customers.

Nice balance... location, comfort,

Posted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
1. The standard room we originally booked was SO tiny and suffocating! Unfortunately, that's quite standard for Europe as we all know... we asked to be upgraded to a larger room b/c there was no way 2 people could have comfortably lived in that room for 3 days... they moved us to a much larger room but we had to obviously pay for it. 2. Be aware: Mykonos is like a maze, with lots of narrow, winding streets. You're going to have to climb a lot of stairs and inclines regardless of where you go... not for the easily tired or elderly!

Amazing stay! Incredible service and location.

We loved this hotel for a variety of reasons. The staff and service were better than any 5 star hotel we've ever stayed in. Anna, Anna, and two gentleman staffed the front desk all had the biggest and most genuine smiles. They were all willing to help and make great recommendations. LOCATION: The property is right by a windmill at the top of Mykonos town. Within 5 minutes walking you're in the heart of Chora and shortly thereafter in Little Venice. I wouldn't want to be any closer to the heart of things as Mykonos is quite the party town. With the windows closed and the AC on we couldn't hear anything. Additionally, the backside of the hotel is on a road so it's easy to get your luggage in and out. BREAKFAST: Most of the food is prepared by Anna's mom. She is delightful and makes these amazing filo dough rolls stuffed with spinach and feta cheese. They are so good! My wife's favorite was a whole grain husk toasted and covered with cottage cheese and diced tomatoes and olives. Also superb. The spread also included rice pudding (yum!), homemade jam, deli meats, croissants, breads, fruits, and cereals. We miss the breakfast already! BUILDING: This boutique property fits the Mykonos white washed walls and blue trim perfectly. ROOMS: We had an ocean facing room with a view of Mykonos town and a windmill (lovely!). The rooms are a little small but comfortable and clean. A suite would take care of the size issue but we didn't think it was worth it.

Awesome find for a great price

Posted Jun 5, 2013
Pros: View
Cons: small room
Location: overlooking Mykonos with great views
Amazing value! every one at the hotel was so helpful. they offered to help us arrange trips, even after we moved to our villa. the location is awesome (although the trip up the hill is tiring after a few times). loved sitting on the terrace and looking down on Mykonos town. I can't stress how amazing the staff were.
