“Great Place to Stay”

Reasonably priced, neat, clean, friendly staff, location is great with lots of restaurants, the beach and shopping. The continental breakfast has a great selection. Small refrigerator in the room makes it nice to keep food or drink in the room.

“Good place to stay that is not on the beach”

We found the hotel clean and the staff very friendly. We had read some of the reviews and were a little concerned about it. But when we arrived we were very pleased. The breakfast was good and if they were out of something the staff was very ready to replace. We would stay there again.

“SMELL IN ROOM 235 WAS HORRIBLE”

Last minute my son and daugter decided to come with me on a overnight business trip. When arriving office staff notified me that they were sold out and we would have top make do with a king size bed and handed me linens letting me know the couch folded out. This was fine as I only put "one person" staying at the the hotel on the reservation. Was surprised I had to make up the bed but really not a hassle. The room looked very clean but was missing the remote. Comments from the kids soon followed " Wow dad you had to get up and change the channel all the time as kid ". The SMELL can only described as a cross between pet urine and must with a little rodent thrown in. So disgusting!! There was no reason to complain to the staff as they were sold out and we would have lost our non refundable deposit has we chosen to go elsewhere. So we quickly went swimming (pool was fine) and stayed out of room as much a possible. Opened a window to fight the smell. MISTAKE as the room heated up smell got worse. I kept a/c on full blast the rest of night. Recommend they gut the room. Would not stay again and will probaly pass on Baymonts in the future. There is no way they do not know about this smell. To continue to pass this misery on to other customers is poor business.

“decent for the price”

Not a bad place for the price. It's off the beaten path, ended up putting over 400 miles on the car to get to the action of Myrtle, but would stay there again if I had to.

“Baymont Pawleys Island”

The room was clean and comfortable. The price paid was fair and the service friendly. The complimentary breakfest bar was good and the pool was clean. The wife thougt she would be closer to the ocean, but it was only a five minute drive to the public beach. We had a six night, non-refundable stay, but was ready to move on after three nights because the community is small and we had seen what there was to see. I appreciate the manager not holding us to the contract, letting us leave after a 24-hour notice we gave after the second night, without any additional charges. The only negative would be, if the hotel was not full, they should have put us in a room that wasn't missing two wall pictures. They said they were updating the dacor and several pictures were out for re-framing.

“Right next to the Beach”

I was not impressed by some reviews of this hotel but decided to book there anyway. It was the most pleasant surprise I had. The hotel does pay much from outside, classic style from Baymont Inn line. The staff was extreemely courteous and friendly. The room and bathroom were very cleaned. Do not expect to have modern furniture but the comfort is there. We had a noise problem with the room next door one afternoon and the staff managed to get it fixed by the end of the day (required the intervention of an off-site maintenance guy). The breakfast is simple but satisfies any appetites. Only negative points: the air conditioning unit was too noisy to our taste (we have a baby to put to sleep) and the pillows were too thick (again it is a personal choice). I had asked for a crib but somebody else used it and they did not manage to get another one. Besides this, the area is great: less than 1 mile south from the public beach and 3-5 miles to the Huntington State park (the cleaniest beach ever) and Brookgreen gardens. Also a Fresh Market just opened next to the hotel in June 2011 so very convenient to buy your dinner or picnic food. Overall we were very satisfied and think about coming there again.

“Very well maintained and good place”

Our stay was very comfortable and the hotel is very well maintained. My only complaint was that somehow between Expedia and the Hotel, they managed to misplace the Reservation and the clerk at the Help desk was not very knowledgeable (we checked in the middle of the night. So he was probably sleepy as well.) He refused to accept the fax from Expedia and insisted that I give my credit card number to check in. Thankfully I was able to square things with the Manager the next day morning and she was very helpful.
