Great view from balconyPosted Nov 30, 2013
Absolutely loved our ocean view suite. Staff was awesome and extremely helpful handling our golf clubs that we shipped ahead of our arrival, booking our tee times and shows and helping us locate places to eat, and handling the safe return shipment of our clubs back home.

Nice ocean view from this room.Posted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: Front desk staff was awesome. Very friendly and so polite. Could not ask for better here.
Cons: The water pressure in the shower could be a lot stronger. Also a new shower head would be ideal.
Location: All sorts of food close by and plenty to see and do. Shopping was very close by also.
Overall a pretty good place to stay. Clean room and friendly front desk staff.

Greatness of the CaravellePosted Oct 20, 2013
I have never written a review about a hotel. However, I feel the need to express the full satisfaction of our recent experience. My wife and I would return to this hotel for any occassion in the area without hesitation. In fact it would be our first choice. The hotel bar food is way beyond par, and the staff treats you like family. This is hereby our second home. Thanks for a great Anniversary.

The Caravelle ResortPosted Sep 28, 2013
Pros: Close proximity to the beach.
Cons: The facility was ok. It didn't feel all that clean, but hey, it is the beach! The pools had leaves/small bits of trash floating in it.
The Caravelle Resort is nothing great itself, but the close proximity to the beach and the large pool and kiddie pools are nice, although the pools didn't seem all that clean. The lazy river should be billed as the world's smallest lazy river. The kids took the inner tubes into the big pool, which was ok because if all the inner tubes were in the lazy river (given it's very small size), there would be a traffic jam. There are no lifeguards on duty, and this also translates to absolutely no resort staff keeping an eye on the goings on around the pools. The hostess at the breakfast buffet was rude to just about everyone she came in contact with. I'm really glad she isn't my coworker! The other staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There were no towels to use at the pool, and I've never stayed in any resort that didn't have towels. The umbrellas and chairs on the beach are for rent for $30 for 8 hours. Again, have never seen a resort charge for an amenity that should be included in the price. I would probably not stay here again. I will move on down the beach and explore other facilities.

East Coast VisitPosted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: If I needed to cook my own food, I could.
Cons: The bathroom fan could be quieter.
Location: The Caravelle is close to restaurants and entertainment.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. One day I enjoyed sitting on the lawn chairs to eat breakfast. Parking was great and the walk to the beach was short.

You get what you pay for I guessPosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
The beds were not comfortable, breakfast took over an hour to be seated, it took 3 hours to be checked into our hotel and that was after we had already pre-registered! The cleaning staff didn't clean our room the first night and when we told the front desk, she couldn't have cared less. They just dumped a bag of towels in our room to make up for it (didn't hang up, take out trash or give us new shampoo - thank goodness we packed extra), which was a pitiful way to handle us being skipped that day.

Stayed at the Carolina Dunes . The room was not as nice as the pictures posted on the website. It was older and the king size bed was actually two twins together, told that this is considered a king swing. Very uncomfortable since the mattresses kept slipping apart.
