“Nice family getaway”
Hotel overall was nice.. enough to do for a family with younger children to not to have to go anywhere else for activities.. only complaint for a childless couple was drive to anywhere, nothing within walking distance, and the hotel cleaning staff wasn't the most prompt or hardworking it seemed, but both of those small things were worth the quiet, resortlike getaway.. overall great stay, hotel food was better than expected if you don't feel like driving anywhere,, good atmosphere, great place to take a family with all the extras for children.. will undoubtedly go again for comfort, value, and extras included.. truly is a 'resort' type place, which can be a blessing or downfall depending on what you are looking for..
“Some parts good - Some parts not so good”
I chose the Dunes Village Resort because of the excellent reviews that it received and the description listed it as a "new" resort. Upon my arrival on Labor Day I found that only one of the buildings was new and it wasn't the one I was staying in. The listing is very misleading. Although we did receive a king size ocean front room (Palms Tower, Room 540) and the furnishings were nice and the view was gorgeous, the room had several short-comings. The worse thing was that the tub drained extremely slow so for four days while taking our showers we stood in six inches of water. We complained on the first day and we received a note that said the stopper was broken and that it would be fixed upon our DEPARTURE! We complained on the second, third and fourth days as well and it was finally fixed on the fourth day. On Wednesday the cleaning crew left all of their cleaning supplies and our trash on top of the kitchen counter. On Thursday the cleaning service never came at all but finally dropped off towels sometime before midnight. Other disappointments: the carpet was extremely frayed, the bathroom sink stopper was broken, and the makeup mirror was mounted next to the sink (okay if you are only two feet tall!). Not quite what you would expect from a resort. The one huge positive is that the food at both the Admiral Room and the Captain's Cafe was awesome! I would recommend this resort but not this room until everything has been fixed.
“Great B-day Weekend!”
We'll definitely comeback!!! :)
“Family Fun!!”
Our family of five traveled to Myrtle on a Friday. Just happened to be the Friday of graduation for most high school seniors. When we realized the date we were expecting mobs of teenagers and loud parties. THAT IS NOT WHAT WE FOUND!! We've visited Myrtle Beach for 35 plus years and have finally found THE BEST FAMILY FUN hotel there. Dunes Village was awesome. Indoor water park was a hit, beach front tiki bar was very relaxing and the on site coffee shop was a must in the mornings. From ping pong, to Foosball, to Shuffle Board, to a free Wii in the play area, everything was great. I highly recommend this hotel for any family looking for CLEAN fun without all the crowds.
“LOVED IT!”
My husband and I just returned a few weeks ago from our vacation where we stayed at the Dunes Village Resort. We absolutely loved it! From check in to check out we were completely floored with everyone and everything. There was plenty to do and my 4 year old loved the water park and the pool. We ate at the restaurant downstairs several times for lunch and the food was delicious. We will never stay anywhere else. Thank you so much for making our vacation everything we had hoped for.
“Best Hotel in Myrtle Beach”
We have been coming back to Myrtle Beach ever since we've moved to NC. And we have FINALLY found the hotel we will be coming back to year after year. We had the most wonderful and memorable time and the hotel and amenities were perfect. The staff were always helpful and wanting to make our stay as pleasant as possible - which they achieved! We all can't wait for our next trip! Thank you Expedia and Dunes Village Resort for a fantastic trip!!!
“Awesome place / we will be back”
The hotel swimming amenities were awesome (2 large indoor water parks). The pool water was very warm and pleasant throughout the day. The cafe on site was excellent and very reasonable with prices. Regret not making it to the breakfast buffet; it smelled good and was also priced reasonable. We will definitely go back. Our two kids 9 & 5 loved it. No reason to leave once you arrive. Myrtle Beach is a great place for families to visit; we totally recommend it for a vacation. We live next to a Great Wolf Lodge in Virginia but we spent less money on a three night stay at the Dunes Village resort than we would of for one night at the Great Wolf Lodge; and to top it off we had an oceanfront room with all the amenities of home and free wi fi connection. The resort also offered many activities throughout the day (like a campground does) and we were able to play foozball, shuffle board, pool and ping pong all for free. Can't say enough about the place except loved it and can't wait to go back.
“Great winter getaway, definately going back!”
This hotel is perfect for a family getaway, especially in the winter. Rooms were clean, indoor waterparks were warm, clean and more than I expected. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Overall wonderful experience! We will be going back!
“best winter retreat in Myrtle”
Had a wonderful time!!! Wonderful family weekend. Can't wait to go back.
“Great for kids of all ages”
What an awesome place to stay. Everything was great - from the initial checkin to checkout retrying was perfect. Our 19 month old daughter loved the waterpark.
