Just above the beach, a wooden deck furnished with thickly cushioned lounge chairs features a 45-by-45-foot pool divided into children's and adult sections and a separate toddlers' pool. Isolated on the opposite side of a pool bar (open in summer) is another sundeck with a nine-person spa tub next to a sand volleyball court. A wooden staircase leads from the pool deck to the beach.
A 400-yard beachfront boardwalk connects the hotel to a companion property, Embassy Suites, where guests enjoy complimentary access to an extensive water playground featuring slides, spouts, jet sprays, and a six-foot bucket that dumps water down a sloped roof onto children below. Adjacent to the playground is a 350-foot lazy river with tubes. Nearby there's also an outdoor stage for live entertainment. (The water playground and stage are closed in winter; open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in spring; and open daily in summer and early autumn, depending on weather.)
Also open to hotel guests are Embassy Suites' other outdoor water attractions, comprising an irregularly shaped 50-foot-long pool, a 50-foot-long freeform children's pool, a toddlers' pool, and three nine-person spa tubs, as well as a pool bar and open-air café. Winter swimming is available a half-mile from the hotel at the Kingston Plantation's Sport & Health Club, which includes an indoor, 65-foot, four-lane lap pool and an eight-person spa tub.
Just outside the hotel's entrance are four, lighted, hard-surface tennis courts (complimentary). Adjacent to the Sport & Health Club is a tennis center with five hard-surface courts and four clay courts--all lighted (surcharges for play). Instruction and clinics are available (surcharges). The Sport & Health Club also offers three racquetball courts (surcharges) and aerobics, Pilates, and yoga classes (surcharges).
Across the street from the Kingston Plantation Resort, one-half mile from the hotel lies Arcadian Shores Golf Club with an 18-hole championship course, a driving range, a practice green, and a golf academy for instruction. Hotel guests receive preferred tee times. The hotel's golf concierge can also book tee times at the Myrtle Beach area's other 120 courses.
Four miles north of the hotel, an independent water sports center on the beach rents kayaks and sailboats and books parasailing flights and banana-boat rides
