Pros: The hotel was relatively quiet with no loud noise happening at night
Cons: Update the entire hotel, buy up the 2 hotels that are closed beside it and use that space to rebuild or expand.
Location: Good location, close to shopping and far enough away from boardwalk
The hotel is old and in need of some major repairs to the elevator as far as being clean and up to date. There was damage to the patio chair on the balcony, tiles on the kitchen floor were damaged and there were light bulbs in the kitchen, bathroom and tub area that needed changing out. The utensils need updating as there was no corkscrew or bottle opener. When it came time to check out the office was supposed to be open at 8am but "the guy" never showed up so I handed my room keys to a member of the staff walking around at 8:15 and said I was leaving. Also with the hotel closed up beside it, it was an eye sore. Also the parking is across the street which is a hinderance.

On the BeachPosted Jul 28, 2014
Cons: Room updating, work out room needs to be revamped.
Location: the beach
The best thing Jonathan Harbour has going for it is it's location. The room was nice in size and was clean. There was a consistent dampness and moisture that led to concerns about what could be growing under the carpeted floors. The thermostat could not be adjusted. Again, the location was great. The hotel needs updating. If you are looking for a no frills place to crash that's on the beach, this is your place.

special thanks to Kandra!!!Posted Jun 11, 2014
Cons: The house keeping, they missed one day of cleaning but when we requested to changed at least the towels they did right way.
Location: The location is awesome.
My special thanks to Kandra, she is the receptionist from the hotel and she is adorable and always helping with anything, our travel won`t be the same without Kandra. The room was nice and clean and the view is priceless!!! Definitely we will come back.

Not HappyPosted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: The one thing I did like was that we were on the beach. THAT WAS IT!!!
Cons: Everything from the staff to the quality of the room could be improved.
Location: We were located at the south end of South Mrytle Beach. There is nothing to do at the hotel location other than the beach.
My family and I did not have a great experience at this hotel from the moment our visit started. Our room was supposed to be ready for check in at 3 o'clock on our arrival date and it was not. So we were put in a different room around 3:30 p.m. Our room was supposed to have 2 double beds in one room and a one in the second room. Well the second room had a pull out hide-a-bed (that was broke) so my wife and I slept on the floor. The pool was not clean and one of the hot tubs was broken. The other hot tub was working but the water level was down to the first step rather than up a couple inches from the top (at least my feet and ankles were able to relax). The second day we were there we left the room around 8 a.m to go see some of the sites and do some shopping but when we returned that afternoon around 4 p.m to get cleaned up and ready for dinner we found that the room had not been cleaned and there were no clean towels availible for use. So my wife went to the lobby to get some towels since nobody seemed to care enough to at least change those out for us. All in all it was one of the worst hotel experiences I have encountered. The pictures that are given for this hotel were very miss leading.

it was a decent hotel, not too expensive, & very close to the beach. you get what you pay for, so it wasn't fancy. the staff was very nice & friendly.

Horrible ExperiencePosted Apr 29, 2014
Location: WASN'T THERE LONG ENOUGH TO FIND OUT
A/C did not work. Room smelled something horrible. Hallways leading to the room were filthy. Elevator was filthy. Staff was not friendly at all. No parking at hotel. Parking was across the street on a somewhat of a grass lot type Very horrible experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone

Large room but terrible hotel staffPosted Apr 29, 2014
Location: Oceanfront; but beside abandoned buildings (ex-hotels)
I've stayed in better motels than this place. The hotel staff were apparently inexperienced with computers/technology as they continued to ask me if I had booked one or two rooms. I clearly had an email confirmation for one room but I guess they couldn't read. I never received an official hotel receipt due to their printer not working properly. The credit/debit card transaction wasn't smooth either. It took several swipes before my card went through to pay for the resort daily fee. The most inconvenient thing about Jonathon Harbour was the parking lot was across the street. The place looks like a dump. It's located beside abandoned buildings----looks like you stumbled upon a project housing. The only good thing about this place is that the room size is great for basically any amount of people. I would not recommend this place to anyone----it's not worth it!

Ocean Front hotelPosted Apr 28, 2014
The outside of the hotel is older however the room was clean, roomy, with a great view. The only issue was the bed was very squeaky anytime you moved.
