We finally arrived at the hotel on a Friday night around 9:30pm, after an 18 hour drive! When we got up to the room, it was dirty - the bedding was stained, there was a used glass sitting on top of the cabinet, and dust bunnies and crumbs on top of the microwave. The furniture in the room was very run down - dresser was missing knobs, end table was super scratched up, etc. My 2 teenage girls went down to the hot tub and saw there was trash at the bottom of the pool. The entire place reeked of weed and my 2 daughters were solicited to buy drugs within 5 minutes of being down at the hot tub... and the guy wouldnt leave them alone so my oldest had to raise her voice and yell for him to go away before he would leave. We only stayed for an hour TOPS - we couldnt even "suck it up" just for the night! I went online, booked a reservation at a better hotel, and got outta there as fast as we could! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

I did have to reclamation the counter tops and dresser because they still had stuff from the last guests but I loved the setup of the beds and furniture and the view was absolutely beautiful! With the ocean and the moon light over the ocean in the evening from the room was absolutely stunning!! Could ask for any better. The breakfast staff were so nice and friendly! Planning on coming back hopefully soon!

Nice area and the updates to the building are nice. Still doing construction so there was no roof pool or restaurant open as they are updating them. But access to beach and downstairs pools are warm and nice.

The staff was very friendly from check-in to check out. We are e a family of four, and we stayed for four nights. it was a last-minute booking, so we were not familiar with the property at all. Upon check-in, which happened 15 minutes after we booked it online, the front desk clerk was friendly and accommodated us with our room request. The staff that we met during breakfast time, taking care of the pools, and other staff members in the elevator, and on the property were all very friendly and showed smiles when we sincerely thanked them for what they were doing there. The pools were heated and myself, and my children had a great time, the grounds were very clean. The only issue we had was securing of the door access and elevators from the general public. Most doors were unlocked, so anyone could access the property at any time. Other than that, we thought it was a great value for the money. We had a suite on the 14th floor, which had two queen beds in the front room, a kitchen, and a balcony with another Murphy bed in the room where the balcony was. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you, Monterey Bay!! 👍😀

this is a basic old building, only bathroom is in room, room is old and worn out, bathroom had two doors, both were very difficult to open, sagging and warped. Construction going on throughout our stay was very loud.

You get what you pay for. The view was nice, but the balcony door didn't seal, so it and the front door whistled incessantly. All tile/linoleum so it SHOULD have been easily mopped, but there was a heavy grit and grime present. Also, the fridge and freezer didn't seal fully. It would make plenty of ice, then melt into a giant glob. Beds were servicable, but both had VERY squeeky frames. AC/heat worked well. Water pressure was good, but the tub was a bit worse for wear (stains, heavy scratches). The staff was pleasant and helpful, but I wouldn't use the word enthusiastic.

**Dates of Stay:** Feb 24 **Overall Impression:** While the ocean view was beautiful, my experience was unfortunately not positive. **Pros:** * **Beautiful Ocean View:** The view of the ocean from the property and from the suite was truly stunning. **Cons:** * **Unhelpful Staff:** Upon arriving at 2am, the receptionist informed me that no rooms were available, despite having a confirmed reservation. I had to contact expedia regarding this and after 30mins of conversations with expedia and the staff member, I finally got the room. This was a very frustrating experience, especially considering the late hour. * **Cleanliness Issues:** The cleanliness of the accommodation was very poor. I encountered roaches throughout the property, making it a very unpleasant stay. **Recommendation:** Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend staying here. While the ocean view was nice, the significant downsides, particularly the lack of room availability, and cleanliness issues significantly detracted from my stay. **Additional Notes:** It's important to note that this review reflects my personal experience and may not be representative of everyone who has stayed at this accommodation. However, I hope it provides valuable information for potential future guests.

The hotel was ok but needs updating. The parking garage itself is enough for me to not stay. The ramps were very very narrow going up and down. I would not drive anything any bigger than my Highlander in there. The tv didn’t work, the lamp didn’t work, the hairdryer didn’t work and I killed 2 roaches to flush along with the cricket already in the toliet. The pools were ok and heated. The check in staff was so nice but the desk clerk the other days seemed like she was annoyed.

Staff was great and attentive to my needs. The pools were clean and the lazy river had the floating rings. The breakfast was ok but the cooks gave great service and were super friendly. The room was ocean front with a full kitchen fully stocked withal the utensils I needed to make dinner. Had an amazing time here can’t wait to go back.

Great weekend stay for New Years.
Overall the hotel was pretty clean although dated. The amenities for families was great with the indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. Some renovations were ongoing throughout, which is a good sign of updating. A lot of hotels charge for breakfast and parking but they are free here.

This is really an awesome property. We went with my so. And his family and it was perfect for both the kids and the grandparents. Plenty for the kids to do and a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean and plenty of hot tubs to choose from. Our specific room had a couple of issues and they really need to do something about the tv service, but overall, we would definitely stay GIn

I am very disappointed in the breakfast because it definitely went downhill. A variety of hot foods (sausage, onions/peppers and waffles) use to be served along with fresh fruits. Not sure what happen but it’s not what it use to be. We came in the winter time and the heat in the room wasn’t working at first so maintenance had to come. The tv remotes did not work and the ice maker kept over flooding with ice. Overall the room was comfy but definitely don’t think we will be coming back to Monterey Bay.

This was a solo birthday trip. The parking lot is very tight, with steep ramps. If it's been raining, and you have bad tires, you might not make it up. They do have ground level parking for oversized vehicles, though. At check in, there was a gentleman at the small desk - I stated I was checking in, he asked for my ID and looked at a sheet of paper. Then the young lady that was straightening the dining area went behind the big desk....to check me in. They knew each other, were pleasant, and joked a lot....but I don't know what the first person needed my id for. Check in was easy. I asked for an upper floor and thankfully they had a room on level 14. The room was generally okay, but it needed a deep clean. Lots of smudges on the windows, walls and doors. Around the toilet base was dirty. Hair still on the floor. Etc. I was afraid to move the curtains, figured they were full of dust. The door from the bedroom to the kitchen was damaged. The balcony door didn't lock properly. I absolutely loved the view. The kitchen was stocked with plates, utensils, etc. There was the king bed, then a Murphy and couch in the living room. The pool is indoor/outdoor, and was heated, which allowed for a lovely December nighttime swim. There is also a rooftop pool and hot tub on the 10th floor. I wouldn't bring anything of value and maintain awareness, the room doors and parking lot are open to the public. Would be good for a family/group trip. I plan to return - with cleaning supplies.
