Not what I expected

Sea Dip is a befitting name especially if we're talking about the dip out of hell! The kitchen appliances were completed outdated and weren't safe to use. The living quarters were unbearable and the service was mediocre. The view doesn't do the beach justice. It was no near what we pa

Not really happy but it works....

First off my 2 BEDROOM suite was a 2 room suite one room with 2 beds a kitchen in the hallway and a Murphy bed coming out of the wall where the livingroom is. On the website it shows 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each in them. The lazy river and kiddie pool were a joke and the outdoor pool was dirty! The indoor pool was ok but could have been cleaner. The front desk lied to my husband upon check out telling him they didn't have an ice machine (which you had to pay .25 for anyway so why lie about it?) they also were very rude to him throughout his whole conversation with Them. They didnt want to give him a trash bag, there was nothing in the room to wash dishes although its stated in the agreement to wash the dishes with the detergent provided also no shampoo...when we arrived there were clothes hanging in the closet from previous residents and it took my 4 year old 3 seconds to find about 7 beer bottle caps under the bed. The blanket on the Murphy bed looked like they were changed maybe in late 1979 and the condition of it was horrible the screws in it were loose and every time u put your arm above your head it pinched you. While the hotel looked nothing like the pictures and the staff was not very friendly it worked for our stay and we still had a great time. The building is old but had been updated to some extent however for what we paid it should have been a lot nicer. It's in a great location as well.

Great hotel on the beach!

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: It's right down town and close to Broadway.
Cons: The carpet and elevator could be updated, but it's still a great price for the hotel. The staff was also very reluctant to give more towels.
This was a perfect hotel on the beach if you're looking for an inexpensive and descent place. It has 2 pools, a lazy river, spa, playground and grill. It's in a great location -- less than 10 minute drive to Broadway and you can walk to the boardwalk. I would have to report there are 2 negatives about this hotel: 1) The lazy river is more like a lazy circle and 2) You do have to wash and clean the dishes if you use them and the hotel does not provide detergent. The kitchen was great, but the tvs are very old - but you don't come to Myrtle Beach to sit inside and watch tv.

Pros: Location, early check in
Cons: Friendlier and more helpful front desk staff!!!! More supplies, especially kitchen wise!
Location: This location is close to everything, about a mile down from the pier, there are TONS of things to do within a five minute drive.
We went for a short weekend trip. The hotel is right on the beach so it does have a spectacular view and is super convenient. We got there around 8 am on check in day and they were extremely nice in letting us check in at that time. However, when we ran out of toilet paper and towels the first day, I called the morning of the second day and the front desk was very short and somewhat rude, saying she couldn't do anything about either thing and that we should tell our housekeeper. We needed to use the restroom then and not have to wait for the housekeeping staff to arrive to get toilet paper. I was very upset. Also, the fully equipped kitchen is kind of ridiculous. I realize this is a spring break place, and on the cheaper side, so they probably have things stolen or broken all the time, however there were such minimal kitchen utensils it was extremely hard to cook. So be sure and bring cups, a skillet and an extra pan (the four cups they gave us were like 4oz cups). The room was overall clean when we arrived. It did have a funny smell but I had brought febreeze so that took care of that. The only dirty thing was the shower. The housekeeping staff is just fabulous and sweet as can be, be sure to remember to tip them! Overall, I would stay here again if the rate was cheap, I would just bring a lot more supplies!!!

Staff Great! Needs Updating!

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: I liked the staff and security guard!
Cons: New heater and A/C units, modern TV sets, refurbished bathrooms, and new couches and backboards for beds.
Location: The location could not of been better!
I had a Good experience staying at the Sea Dip. Very friendly family owned building. My only concerns would be the rooms. The couch had holes and rips in it, my balcony ocean front room did not have an outside table, the tv was probably 10-15 years old, the heater and A/C Unit was extremely loud and would keep me up during the night. The shower head needed to be replaced due to lack of water pressure.

Comfortable Ocean Front Apartment

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: The staff, location.
Cons: Provide coffee and basic toiletry and cleaning supplies. The towels could be bigger.
Location: Right on the beach, restaurants, bars, rentals. Set back from the hubbub of the Grand Strand.
The 3 bed, 2 bedroom apartment was comfortable and located right on the beach about a mile from the Grand Strand, which was perfect for us during spring break. The room has minimal amenities ie., coffee pot but no coffee, no toiletries, no beach towels or ashtrays for smoking room, no dish or laundry soap, but the staff was outstanding and went out of their way to answer our questions and assist with cabs and shopping info. This hotel was a good value for travellers on a budget.
