Did not feel it was worth the price!

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: The room was large enough that my family of four did not feel cramped. I also liked that the pool was salt treated instead of chlorine.
Cons: Better customer service as well as repairs to the rooms themselves.
Location: We went to the Ripley's Aquarium and to the beach. The drive was not bad only 25 minutes to Myrtle Beach.
When we checked in the lady at the front was borderline on being rude when I asked about early check in. We had problems with the key cards and we had to ask them to turn on the air an hour after our arrival. The room was not properly cleaned we found chips beside the end table while packing and there were spots on the ceiling that needed repainting. The bathroom needed repairs you could see cracks in the bathtub and paint peeling.

The room was very clean and the staff was pleasant. Super 8 has a skeevy reputation and I was worried about staying here alone, but I had to pick up my son from college and the hotel where I usually stay was full. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of my room. I also did not get murdered, which is a plus. I actually think I would stay here again. It's less expensive than the other hotel, and the front desk staff were very generous with amenities that I needed. Not bad.

Carpet was dirty, the pool wasn't opened, breakfast was horrible, didn't have enough rags when I asked for more.

Pros: Good rates. Very nice staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed.
Location: There is nothing near by. Nothing within walking distance. It's on a major highway about 3 miles from the university.
The hotel staff were great. Very helpful. The room was very nice. Clean, good bed. The breakfast was minimal and not particularly good. The rates were great.

Not the Ritz, but clean and comfortable

Pros: Proximity to the university
Cons: Could stand to be updated
Have stayed twice visiting my son at Coastal Carolina University. The hotel is nothing fancy, but just fine for a quick stop. Don't expect a resort environment or gourmet breakfast, but I would stay again.
