“Weekend getaway on a budget”

This small motel was perfect for a weekend getaway on a budget. It was clean, comfortable and we loved that we could take the stairs up to our room and not wait for the elevator with 20 people like we experience when we stay at the larger full service hotels. It is old and a tad rundown but it is on the beach with a balcony so who can complain about that? The staff was very nice and accommodating; my husband and I would definetely stay there again.

“Stay clear of Red tree.”

Every thing was very very worn. The carpets were matted and faded. The appliances were rusty/corroded and stained. Other giests said they didn't even have the stated microwave. The linens were worn thread bare and pilling. The mattresses were very breaking down. It was very disappointing for the cost of the room; it wasn't even worth half what we were charged.

“Mildew Motel *DO NOT STAY HERE*”

I would not advise anyone to ever stay at this hotel. I checked in and when I walked into the room it reeked of mold, mildew, stale food, urine and anything else you can think of. I immediately called and tried to get a refund. The smell was just unbearable. The room looked like it had not been cleaned in months it was very unsanitary. I should have known something was wrong when they gave us an actual key to open the door not a key card and the door was stuck and would not come open the manager had to come up and jiggle the knob to open. There were crumbs left all over the room. The bathroom was filthy, the tub looked like someone had just gotten out of it. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE. This place looked as if it should have been against DHEC policy for any human to stay in.

“Please take my word for it!”

Words can not describe how nasty this place is! I ended up paying for the room but I did not sleep nor stay there. The room was covered in sand, mildew and rust on the appliances. It was almost unbelievable. Sleeping in your car or on the beach is MUCH better than staying here.

“Don't book!”

I was glad I brought my own sheets......I also would not have used the kitchen. Stove was rusty and condition of the pots and pans were horrible. Bathroom floor was nasty as well as furniture on the balcony nasty!

“overall nasty, nasty”

My standards are not very high for a hotel on the beach, however towels with out holes in them seem to be something standard.
