“Would rather give my money to Mohegan Sun”
I had planned a surprise birthday weekend for my husband. Thought it would be nice to save money on the hotel and stay half a mile from the casino at the Best Western. I had a balloon bouquet delivered to our room to surprise him when we walked in, but we were surprised at more than just the balloons.......we walked into our room to find someone else's jacket, purse, and luggage. Needless to say, when we went back downstairs to bring it to the staffs attention, the two desk attendants spent more time arguing over who issued keys to that room and trying to find their maintenance guy than assigning us to a new room and letting us get settled in. We had to sit around and wait for them. When we finally got into our new room (this one was empty), we received a call from the front desk. They told us that the manager wanted to lower the rate of our room for the night as their way of apologizing for the inconvenience of what happened. I understand people make mistakes and I felt the reduced rate was unnecessary, but appreciated. When we went to check out, they did NOT lower our room rate. When I asked about it, we stood around (again) waiting for them to straighten it out. It is one thing to have one encounter of carelessness, but to then have two...I'd rather hand my credit card over to the casino.
