Nice hotel close to casinos.Posted Sep 15, 2014
This hotel is affordable, clean, and comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone who does not mind driving 15 minutes from the casinos.

Pros: They had a pretty good freen breakfast.
The room had a very musky moldy smell. We couldn't open the window because the screen was all bent and was full of spiders & bugs. The bathroom was very old and needs updating.

Cons: maintain the pool
Location: Foxwoods Mohegan and Mystic
I found the hotel safe with all the military guys staying there. Only issue I had was the pool was not maintained well and the continental breakfast wasn't all that appetizing.

Expedia screw up.Posted Jul 28, 2014
Searching for pet friendly hotel. Saturday night heavy bookings. Directed to Hilltop hotel. Made reservation. Got to hotel and they did not allow pets. Cost $194.00 not to stay there. Expedia screw up.

Bad choicePosted Jul 22, 2014
Cons: There could be lots of improvements. Everything is old and dated. They could start with replacing the carpet throughout and updating the rooms.
Location: We were there for a family reunion
We expected a much better hotel and were disappointed with just about everything. Carpets are very worn and the room was very out of date. The air conditioning unit was very loud and didn't put out any cold air. You could see the hangers for a picture that was supposed to be behind the bed, but no picture. The headboard was separated from the bed frame and we had to put a pillow behind it so it didn't smack the wall every time you moved. We were given two very small bars of soap and they weren't replaced on our second day. The door stuck and when we returned to our room later the second night, it was open, as the cleaning person didn't shut it properly. Thank God we took all of our valuables with us when we left for the day. All in all the hotel is 'seedy'.... We will not be staying there again.

to not stay here ever!!!! Hotel staff was inept .Posted Jul 15, 2014
Cons: every thing a motel is designed to provide service.
Location: that was not an issue. we were familiar with the area. they provided brochures and maps. motel staff however was not familiar with the area at all.
hotel staff was inept and screwed up reservation under another person's name entirely and woke us up at 10pm to go to front desk to fix there mistake. the room smelled of mold and was dirty. the air conditioning and appliances were unplugged. outside lighting in parking area was not working where they could properly monitor security cameras. the hotel needs updating and new professional staffing!!! it was evident that our room had not been used or cleaned in months.

Exceeded expectations in a number of ways.Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Discussed above.
Cons: Shampoo carpeting more often. Also, they pull power cords when cleaning, so upon arrival the A/C in rm. and clock-radio did not seem to work.Odd!
Location: Addressed above.
We were traveling with another couple, doing the CT Wine Trail, focusing on wineries in the general vicinity of this hotel. Needed just 1 night (a Saturday) and were trying to avoid the super-high rates charged by many places in the Mystic CT area at this time of year, and also wanted to avoid a flea-bag type place. The Hilltop Inn in Niantic, CT seemed to fit the bill. It was reasonably priced, seemed nice enough and was a tad bit off-the-beaten track to avoid the high prices in Mystic/Stonington proper. Very convenient to Rt. 95. The room was nicer than expected. Nice furnishings, TV, etc. and perfectly comfy bed, pillows, linens. The bathroom was clean and well laid out, though not luxurious. The high-traffic areas of carpeting in the room and common areas was a bit dirty, but not horrendous. Lobby area well-kept, though decor was "eclectic" at best (sort of traditional meets modern mixed with Asian-Indian influences). Sofas, etc, were nice and comfy. Continental breakfast offerings exceeded expectations (variety), though the room was a bit crowded at 9am Sun. a.m. (some folks were standing to eat, as not enough space for all to sit). The layout wasn't ideal, but they seemed to use the limited space as best they could.

Nice hotel on a budgetPosted Jul 1, 2014
The hotel was decent. The so called free wifi didn't work and the cable was like 10 channels only with bad reception. The continental breakfast was the best part except they could at least add some type of meat (ex. Sausage or bacon). The staff was friendly and the room was clean and besides the tv the rest if the place needs to updated.

one night stayPosted Jul 1, 2014
by the look from outside it didn't look like a hotel, landscaping was shabby.staff was nice, carpet in room was old didn't look that clean,no toilet paper, had to go and ask for it at desk no bedbugs so that a plus for one night it was ok for the price, if they updated it and cleaned up outside it could be a nice place.

Nice hotel for the price. Good location, little things could be improved but overall a decent hotel.
