Average hotel

Posted Aug 13, 2014
The hotel is nice in appearance but the rooms are average. The TV did not work, not enough towels for the number of people, and only one package of coffee.

Nice, but terrible smell of throw up in lobby, ele

Terrible smell of throw up in lobby, elevators and upstairs corridor. I guess other guest got ill - also, police presence at 1am and cops were joking about out of control drunks from party. Not great for my 11 and 14 y.o. Daughters. Otherwise, generally nice/elegant.

Mystic Marriott

Very nice hotel but pricey for a family just looking for a place to lay their head for the night. Excellent amenities but you pay for the availability.

Convenient to New London; this is our 3rd stay.

Pros: Convenient location.Nice ambiance in public areas.
Cons: See above......
Room very clean; however, when we booked via Expedia, we booked a king bed. Upon arrival, the clerk asked if we wanted 2 queens or 1 king. I showed her the reservation form stating a king bed. We got the king bed, but the room was for a handicapped person! Seat in shower was inconvenient for us as it took up too much room, the closet rack was 3 feet off the ground to accommodate wheelchairs, and the sink had very little counter space in order to accommodate wheelchairs. This is great for those who need it, but, since we do not, the handicapped room was inconvenient. We should have been told so we could choose another room. ALSO, the toilet seat was very loose and slid when you sat on it. The THANN toiletries are very nice.

Location: Abbott's - Great local lobster place
We asked for a room with 2 queen beds and got the confirmation over the phone but when we go there, we ended up with a room with 2 double beds. They tried to compensate for it with free breakfast. When we check out the beds, we found a hair on our bed. We took the room anyway but it was as great as the previous times. We also made a reservation at Red Spa but got canceled because of their personnel issue. It wasn't as great as our previous visits.

A pleasant weekend away

Posted May 28, 2014
Location: Nicely located for trip to Mystic Aquarium, Seaport and Downtown Mystic - 2 exits down Rte 95.
Requested extra towels twice that were never delivered. Finally had to grab them off the housekeeping cart the next morning so we had enough for showers. Bell staff very friendly and helpful. We were staying over Memorial Day weekend and the hotel was apparently the host hotel for a youth baseball tournament being held nearby - overrun by kids. Would have been nice to have been warned at booking and/or check-in and to have been offered a quieter room without preteen boys running down the halls. Nighttime noise was kept to a minimum. Hotel had posted signs on elevator lobbies on each floor advising guests of "quiet time" after 11pm and 2-strike rule.

Close to Mystic CT, nice location, well maintained

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Quality
Cons: We had a King size bed reservation but it appeared to be Queen. Not a big issue. Some baseball families were rather noisy in the hallways.
Location: Mystic is a great town (seaport village and Aquarium). Dining opportunities are great
Rooms are very nice, good amenities, Starbucks (a must for my partner!)

I don't know what it was about this hotel but I couldn't fall asleep in the beds and I kept waking up from noises in the halls

Really Nice Marriott near Mystic!

Loved the lobby and the fact that seating and a TV were made available out there so that our families (three with a total of six kids between us) were able to watch the Bruins game there, since the bar was full and not likely the best place for kids. I also liked the Spa and the specialis they were running that weekend, and my kids loved the pool. You might also want to let visitors know how friendly the people are and how yummy the burgers were at the little Ryan's Pub just a mile or so down the road. Might not look like much, but the kids & I all enjoyed it.
