Excellent choice

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: Comfortable business hotel. Central location. Good services.
Cons: The wifi is a whopping 1700 Yen/day (ca. 17USD). Various other services have big price tags. I found those fees to be more skewed upwards than in US.
Location: The commercial downtown of Nagoya is Sakae, which is only 1 subway stop away, or about 15min walk. Similarly, the train station is 1 subway stop away.
This is a standard western style hotel, probably a bit better maintained than the average Hilton. On the other hand, this is an excellent choice by Japanese standards. The rooms are big, well furnished, and big windows (which seems to be exactly the opposite of the standards in Japanese hotels). Don't expect any Japanese touches - this is as western as it can be. All the people staying at the hotel are western. We have stayed at several hotels (in several cities) on our recent trip to Japan, and Hilton Nagoya was by far the best in terms of comfort (and things that we get used in the West). The only downside is that it doesn't have any local character.

Hilton Nagoya : Our stay Sept 14

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Everything : location, facilities, staff, gorgeous room
Cons: You can't improve perfection !
Location: Excellent. This wonderful hotel is about 10 minutes from Nagoya Station by taxi (great value : it costs us about A$9). Great food surrounds.
Outstanding Hilton Hotel. Even though we could not speak Japanese the staff were simply brilliant and we did not feel there was a language barrier. They made us feel like we were at 'home'. Nothing was too much trouble. The courtesy bus to the Nagoya Train Station was terrific. The hotel is very central to everything and there are numerous wonderful eating places close by.

Who charges for internet these days??

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: The staff were very pleasant and the room size was generous.
Cons: They were the only hotel we stayed in Japan where there was a charge to have internet use in your room. I think those days are gone.
Lovely staff and pleasant facilities but having to pay for internet in my room is a deal breaker these days.

In town center

Very good. Pool is too small for this kind of hotel. Very nice view from room.

Great service and food. Location not ideal.

Posted Jul 25, 2014
The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. The location was not ideal - It was a ¥800 taxi ride to Nagoya Station and the hotel's shuttle bus didn't run very frequently. This was the only hotel we stayed at in Japan that did not have complimentary in room wifi and the room seemed a little outdated. Having said that though, the service allowed for a pleasant stay.

Great Hotel

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Very clean room with good view
Cons: Price of coffee (almost $10) is ridiculous, especially when there are no free refills.
Location: Lots of shops around all within a short walk. Starbucks across the street. Many small shops offering breakfast set for about $3
We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton. We were on the 22nd floor. Room was very modern and looked recently redone. Extremely well cleaned every day. We received free WiFi, unlike what some others complained of. Food was too expensive, and we didn't eat there (there are many places around to eat, so no worries). It is not a short walk from the train station, so forget that idea right now. We walked it once without baggage and it probably took 20 minutes. Take a cab from Nagoya station or walk the two blocks from the subway.

We had a lovely stay at Hilton Nagoya. The staff were very friendly, courteous and very helpful. 'Minny Me' was delightful. We will definitely stay here again.

Good overall hotel with e

I did not realize my rooms were Executive Rooms as they were the only ones availabel when I booked. They were more expensive but in the end the cost-benefit was good since they include a good breakfast in the Executive Lounge in the 26th floor with excellent view of the city and internet connection is also free in the Executive suites.
