Noisy and uncomfortablePosted Jul 17, 2013
Pros: When my taxi took me away
Cons: Triple glazing to create sound insulation, and a complete refurbishment
Location: This is a busy market district which runs 24 hours a day
The staff welcomed my arrival but that was the highlight of my stay. The loo had no seat, the basin was microscopic with one tap which was loose. The bed was as hard as concrete But this didn't affect my sleep because of the all night carnival outside. Find another place to stay

Hotel staff really makes every effortPosted Jun 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
Let me say I really appreciated the staff. From Mercy, to Eliza, to Nesh, to Jean, to Rachel, to Eunice, to Abu, they all made every effort to please me. There were some issues with internet connection, so if that is critical to you, you may want to know I had net access intermittently for perhaps 1.5days out of my entire stay of 5 days. Not good considering I needed such access for business reasons. However, the room was very nice, the interior of this hotel is NEWLY renovated and is really nice. During the day, Ngara is just fine. No problems, and I heard lots of negative chatter about how dangerous it is. That is not true, in the day. In my opinion, stay inside the hotel at night, however, for your safety. Nice and close to downtown Nairobi, and I honestly think if you are needing a comfortable place for sleeping and doing business, you will like this hotel. Do not approach this place as if its a 3 or 4 star palace you would find in Europe or the US, and you'll be extremely happy. Clean, nicely located and affordable, the La Jardine Hotel has been a very nice place for my base of operations in Kenya this past few days. Highly recommend.
