Great stay, if you want to stay north of Nairobi. Place has a unique colonial character, service is more reflective of times gone by. Food was great and well priced. Property is geared towards big events hosting so felt empty on many days and then suddenly full. Overall enjoyed it as a great sleeping pad for our north of Nairobi trips like hells gate national park, ziplining and ol pejete trips. Grounds were pretty, so you can enjoy a day or two in the property itself.

It is a magical place. Old mansion turned to a boutique hotel. The staff including the manager Mr. Peterson are wonderful and friendly. The property is stunning and the rooms are extremely large. Great place to stay if you are on your way to Masai Mara.

Hotel is a nice secluded area - ideal for a getaway weekend. Hotel needs brucing up bit dated and certainly could do with better lighting and hit water system.

Last year 2016 it was outstanding, beautifully clean, this year the shower didnt work, water was dirty, curtains in our room were torn here and there. I can only describe as grubby :-(, really disappointing. 2016 it was pristine and the manager had an eye for detail and it showed. However the staff are wonderful, helpful kind and genuine, they make the hotel what it is. It needs a good tidy up.

Great building, poor service at front desk ( rude , non engaged front desk) . Very far from the city thus not easy to access. Breakfast takes long ( 50 minutes) time to prepare.

This was a gorgeous private mansion which was converted to a extremely comfortable suites. The square footage of a presidential suite must have exceeded >2,000. The staff are extremely friendly. With a very reasonable price, plus free breakfast from it's own restaurant, this is one of the "best buy." The location is a bit far from downtown Nairobi(20 min taxi drive), in the middle of nowhere. Therefore, there is no worry about terrorist attack.

Big rooms. Great bathrooms. Nice furnishings. Good meals. Nice chef. Pleasant and helpful hotel staff. Location is away from the city so it is a good place to get away and relax. The weather can be a bit cool though. It would be better if the gym was accessible for 24hrs (its open from 7am to 6pm)

Terrible Customer Service
I booked this hotel because it's location on Google Maps shows that it is close to the United Nations Office in Nairobi. When I gave the cab driver the address we drove around and around, and I tried calling the hotel several times and they never picked up. I ended up staying at another hotel and went online and found out that there are two Limuru Roads in Nairobi and that several people had also had the same problem I did. I called Expedia and they tried calling the hotel as well and were unsuccessful. A hotel with no one picking up the phone?! Not even an answering machine!!! I canceled the rest of my reservation through Expedia and they said it was non-refundable but they would advocate with the hotel to get my money back. Expedia got back to me a week later and told me the hotel would not give me a refund, despite the fact that I canceled. Greedy and unfair, and really terrible customer service. To those looking into this hotel: do not expect them to answer the phone, and it is NOT located near the UN or the US Embassy in Nairobi.

When I booked this hotel on www.hotel.com it indicates that this hotel is around the corner of the US-embassy and the United Nations, and was the reson i chose it. Instead it is about 15 kilometers outside and north-west of Nairobi. Really scandalous. I would never have lost my way here but it was quiet place and with fresh air outside. The hotel is OK with nice room and facilities. Not for business but for some days of to relax and cool down! So the picture on the site is not fake:-)

Perfect hotel for couples getaway
The garden was green as i have always wanted, It was quiet, fresh air, The Penthouse was a total surprise i loved it. Thank you Joan/Caroline/Tabitha for the hospitality we had a great time. Breakfast was fantastic.

THE HOTEL THAT MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A KING
This 14 or 16 rooms mansion is not really an Hotel. It is a Palace!!! I was not sure if I chose the right place because it is a little far from downtown Nairobi but once I check in I did not feel like leaving the place. The décor is superb, the room extremely large, the Restaurant elegant and excellent cuisine and the staff going out of their way to make my stay pleasant. The Hotel have few semi-private living rooms and I stay in one of them for few hours doing some computer work. Every 20 minutes one of the servers was checking if I needed more coffee or anything else. They took care of every detail. I will definitely recommended to my friends and I will rate it as a 5 Diamond. It is the perfect place to rest after a safari on your way home.

Outstanding Hotel with great value
This hotel is outstanding and one of the best I have ever stayed in. I cannot believe that it is as inexpensive as it is. The Staff and Management are to be congratulated. Outstanding facilities and the food in the restaurant was very very good and excellent value. The only problem for booking is that the map location on Hotels.vcom is incorrect. The hotel is further from the centre of Nairobi than indicated and is a 15 minute taxi ride further into the countryside. That said a taxi is only 8 USD each way from the indicated location.

Outstanding!
This hotel has everything you could want in African elegance. It is beautiful. The dining was very good also, but the best thing this hotel has going for it are the wonderful, friendly employees there. I hoped they are well cared for because they are the true foundation of this place. From the moment we arrived, every single employee greeted us with kindness and prompt attention. It made the stay there amazing. The only draw back could be the location depending on why you're there. It is quite a drive to downtown Nairobi, but that also makes it a quiet oasis for rest. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Pleasant surprise
The trip started roughly due to wrong hotel directions. The advert showed the hotel being close to the UN building but we had to drive for another 30 minutes to get to the hotel. I was quite angry by the time I got the hotel. However, my anger left the minute I walked into the lobby.... The staff were warm and caring. I was handed a hot towel on arrival with hot chocolate and biscuits. My room was superb and I even had my own steam shower ! I enjoyed my stay and I will definitely be back.

Address is a fraud!! My advise: don't book it
We checked this hotel and booked it since it looks nice and not that far from the city. The true is that the address is not correct, the hotel is located about 30Kms from the city and we spent 2 hours in the middle of the taxi with a local taxi driver and he was not able to locate the hotel (nobody was answering to the telephone either). Later on we figured out the hotel is located 15km away from the location you see in hotels.com. Good thing was that hotels.com relocated us to a better hotel and gave us a bonus. My advise: unless you want to spend 2.6 hours trying to find it and you don't mind to be 30km away from the city, DONT BOOK IT, worst experience ever

Mislead into this place
www.hotel.com indicates that this hotel is around the corner of the US-embassy and the United Nations. Instead it is about 15 kilometers outside and north-west of Nairobi. Really scandalous. I would never have lost my way here. The hotel itself seems ok. Rather new. But it was noisy. And there is no breakfast buffet. They pretent to serve you individually. However, it took them 40 minutes to produce a breakfast. Bottomline: this is not a business-hotel. Stay away.

Oasis in Nairobi....cause this city needs one!
Initially I thought this hotel was much closer to Nairobi. If you need to be downtown or anywhere inside Nairobi each day, the think twice about this hotel, I you don't mind a 45-60 minute drive, then there is no where nicer, and a great place to wind down. They take care of you like family, and you actually feel good simply by walking into the hotel and the room. Rooms are unique! Well appointed. Internet is just good.....but not great. food is good...not great. This place is rated as a wedding destination, but I had a table set up in front of a grand fireplace, and invited business associates. We all had a wonderful time. Very unique I qualify by saying that I travel 15-20 days per month. I live in hotels and am picky.

We stayed at this palatial estate, and when the gates opened, we felt like we'd arrived in a fairy tale. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, and the mansion itself is beyond imagination. It is located a lot further from Nairobi than I expected, and that would've been OK, except for some key issues that made our stay less than acceptable. I can't say enough good things about the staff. We were greeted and introduced by every staff member, and given a tour of the estate. Then things took a turn. The phones, tv, and internet did not work. Several times the electricity would go out and be off for in excess of an hour. They provided no flashlights so we were trying to get around our room with the lights on our cellphones. We did not have hot water to shower. The food was terrible, and most things we ordered from the menu were unavailable. We specifically came to the hotel to have a quiet place respite, and a place to work after our stay in a refugee camp. We had extensive internet work that we needed to complete. THey kept promising us it would be taken care of, but after 4 days, it never was. We ended up checking out 1 day early, and they said it was impossible to reimburse us since we booked through Expedia. This place has huge potential, but they've got a long way to go to iron out the kinks.

Spectacular hotel in beautiful surroundings
- Very nice hotel, friendly staff in a quiet and a beautiful surrounding. Not your typical business hotel. Adveritised as beeing located close to Village market, which is not the case though. This place is along the Limuru road some distance away. Had some trouble with WiFi access from time to time. Great food, friendly staff and a spectacular building! Pretty unique hotel expererience indeed!

Dear Sir, we was booked the said hotel for 3 days, but we only stay there for one night, please refund the money of 2 nights into our credit card or as you can do. reason of leaving: on your website is mention it is 1.5 KM from City Center Nairobi, but this hotel is situated outside Nairobi about 40 KM from City Center. so lease re-fund back the money as we stay only for one night instead of 3 days,

Staff at Sovereign Suites are friendly and helpful with requests. Rooms are spacious and have beautiful wooden panels. Internet access is somewhat sporadic and staff needed reminded every time a power cut had caused the wireless to be restarted. Nice terasse and good choice at friendly restaurant.

Eines der schönsten Hotels in dem wir je waren. Es ist in sehr guten Zustand und die Zimmer sind sehr gross! Das Personal ist extrem aufmerksam, nett und zurückhaltend. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet! Es ist ca. 30 Minuten Fahrzeit (ohne Stau) vom Zentrum entfernt. Eine Taxifahrt ins Zentrum kostet zwischen 2000 - 4000 kSh. Es fahren jedoch viele Matatus direkt vor dem Hotel (Fahrpreis pro Person 80 kSh). Wir würden dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen und können es sehr empfehlen!

ナイロビ郊外にある豪華なホテル。
　2014年10月にジュニアスイートに宿泊しました。Hotels.comやGoogle mapに表示される場所は間違っていて、ナイロビよりはリムルタウンの近くにあります。座標は-1.168626, 36.700168です。深夜の到着のため空港からホテルまでの道が不安でしたが、特に問題もなくたどり着くことが出来ました。事前に車の手配をしておくことをおすすめします。 　ナイロビから離れている反面、ナイバシャ湖には近いため、日帰りでCrater Lake Game Sanctuaryとヘルズゲート国立公園にゆっくりと行ってくることが出来ました。他の国立公園へ行く際のストップオーバー用の宿としてはうってつけだと思います。 　ホテル自体は本当に写真の通りで実に豪華な作りで驚きました。滞在が短いのが惜しくなりました。庭もかなり広いようですが、残念ながらそこまで見ることはできませんでした。 　部屋は十分すぎるほど広く、バスルームも広く、ドレッシングルームまであります。また、部屋の前にはとても広いパブリックスペースがありソファーもおいてありました。とにかく贅沢な作りです。 　建物や調度とは違い、レストランの食事はとても庶民的で値段も手頃です。数千円を覚悟していましたが、確か千数百円位でお腹いっぱいになりました。 　スタッフの応対は人によってばらつきがありますが、宿代を考えれば仕方がないと思います。 　Sun Africa hotels はこのホテルの他にマサイ・マラやナイバシャにも宿を持っているので安心感があります。 　Wi-Fiは場所によってかなり速度が異なります。レストランでは高速でしたが、他はかなり不安定で遅く感じました。私達の部屋では入りませんでした。この点だけが唯一残念でした。 　作りが歴史的な割には、部屋の鍵は非接触のカードキーでドアが完全に閉まらないと警告音が出る今まで見たことがないタイプのものでした。 　私達が到着した時は、敷地への高い門はしっかりと閉ざされていて安心感がありました。 　また、ナイロビに行くことがあれば検討したいホテルです。

Bestes Hotel in der Nähe von Nairobi.
Weltklasse Boutique Hotel im Kolonialstil mit exzellentem Service, wunderschönen Suiten mit allem Komfort und superbem Frühstück. Ein wenig außerhalb von Nairobi (20km), dafür aber ein klasse Preis - Leistungs Verhältnis und in schöner Umgebung. Gutes Abendessen (gegen Aufpreis), besser und sogar günstiger als in den sogenannten Top Restaurants von Nairobi. Hotel ist auch empfehlenswert für Familien mit Kindern (sehr kinderfreundlich).

空港からすごい遠いけど素敵なホテル
空港から果てしなく遠いです。 途中、バラック小屋は何もない原っぱを抜けていくので、 夜の到着は、かなり怖かったです。 でも、スタッフは最高！ 私は旅行会社にピックアップを頼んだにも関わらず 来なくて、かなり不安になりましたが、 「あなたがこのホテルにいる限りは何の心配もする必要はない」 と言ってくれて、とても心強かったです。 夜が寒かったので、翌日ちらっと言ったら、 次の日の夜には湯タンポがベッドに入っていました。 でもお湯は24時にはでなくなるようで、 水シャワーでした。 ホテルの作りは素敵なので、ナイロビでゆっくりしたい人にはいいと思います。
