"It was very good - (after reno should be better)"
This is a great place if you want a kitchen and you want to stay in a hotel without a busy lobby. Personally, I don't like the large hotels because I don't enjoy having to make my way through a busy lobby filled with "whatever conference". Really nice pool and bath house. They are renovating rooms and from the pics in the lobby, it looks like they will be really nice. Rooms are fine but you can tell why they are renovating.
My wife and I visit a half dozen countries every year for 7 years and the service here is better than any other hotel we have ever visited. It is a fantastic hotel in a great location with incredible buffet and gym/spa.

i Booked Two rooms for 3 nights recently this is not the Ritz or the Plaza but what a cracking little hotel, the rooms are very well appointed, modern and clean with very modern bathrooms, large flat screen TVs in the bedroom, There is a very nice Coffee Shop/Bar within the hotel and you have only to cross the road to be facing the city hall and the Plaza hotel, which, is as central as you can be in Seoul. if you can book this hotel at a fair price you will not be disappointed. the only negative is it is off the main road up a sort of alley way which can make it hard to find so make sure you have the full address.

Had a wonderful 4-day stay at the Fraser Place Hotel in Namdaemun. Stay was warm and friendly. Blair, the concierge, was extremely helpful, as was all of the staff. Buffet breakfast was pricey but well worth the money. Had dinner in the hotel one evening and it was a appealing to the eye as well as the stomach! Will definitely stay here again, if I'm lucky enough to go to Seoul in the future. Location was excellent; taxis and buses stopped right outside the hotel, and the subway was minutes from the front door. The Seoul train station was a 8 minute cab ride from our location.
We reserved a double twin bed room which was very clean and comfortable, with a great view of Namdaemun gate and the city. The beds were so comfortable, with down comforters and wonderful pillows. So relaxing, it was hard to leave the room!

Facing Seoul City Hall superbly placed for central Seoul. Stayed 2 weeks and loved it, comfortable and friendly. Never ate at the hotel as there are loads of places to eat nearby and the hotel restaurants are a bit pricey. Enjoyed the pool in the annex on the 17th floor. Palaces, parks and markets all nearby.

Essentially the heart of the modern city and characterized by high-rise buildings, this is a mix of old and new. It is famous for its Namdaemun Market, the largest and oldest traditional market in the country, with thousands of clothing and accessory stalls offering bargain prices. Namdaemun, literally 'Great South Gate' is an impressive traditional gateway of wood and stone standing at a major intersection.
