Great. close to the ocean. Close to the harbor. Close to the best fish and chips place on the harbor -- Troll's. Clean room. quiet.

Too noisy, could not sleep

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Thicker walls, more helpful staff
Place is too old and the walls are too thin. If people make noise you can hear every word. We asked staff to ask people to turn down TVs but they would not. Avoid.

Walls are too thin

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Thickness of walls, helpfulness of staff
The person in the room next to us made noise all night and we heard every word of it. Asked staff to intervene but they refused. HOJO, never again.

badly in need of updating

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Upon driving into the parking lot of this hotel, the building and surroundings screamed despair and dilapidation. If there had been vacancies anywhere else, I would have swallowed my losses at having prepaid this hotel and stayed somewhere else (believe me, I checked). The front lobby, although very dated, looked cared for and clean, so I proceeded to check in. The room smelled like mildew and neglect. The bedding appeared clean, but well-used. The TV was old. Most importantly, the bathroom plumbing worked, so we survived our stay there. I always took my bag with me when I left the room so that all of my things would not end up smelling like the room. I will do everything in my power not to have to stay here again..

Out dated

Posted Aug 21, 2014
We only needed a hotel for a quick overnight because we were waiting for the ferry the next day. Positives: Walk to the water front and Tim Horton's. The outdoor pool was open until 10 pm, I believe is heated. Negatives: Keys for the door and pool. The toilet was so close to the wall, you couldn't sit on it straight.

Ok Hotel

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Clean
Cons: Little modernization couldn't hurt
Location: Minutes from getting off of the ferry!
Nothing fancy, but great value for your dollar, who wants to stay in a hotel room all day anyway

Good value for the price

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: A lift would help
Location: See above
Clean, with polite helpful staff. Good value for the price. They don't have a lift which may be inconvenient for elderly people who are allocated an upstairs room. Having said that, reception offered us help with our suitcases when we checked in. Location is pretty convenient both for downtown and the ferry terminal. All in all we felt it was a good option for a low cost night or two.
