Loved the hotel, only wish they would have a hotel reference guide in the rooms...

My mother, two sons and I stayed at the resort and had a wonderful time. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. A joy to stay at and I would highly recommend.

Went on our honeymoon. I thought they would decorate our room up nice but all they did was bring us chocolate covered strawberries an hour after we checked in. Everything else was excellent. Beach had lots of seaweed but everyone said it was due to a storm. Still a very excellent place. Lots of amazing things to do and see close by.

Hotel lovely ..bit disorganized

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: The hotel is beautifully situated and lovely decor.
Cons: Housekeeping and taking care of the smaller details so customers aren't left to look outside the hotel for amenities.
Location: the Mini Golf just coming into Parksville is the best, the one close to the hotel is a rip off.
Upon early arrival we were able to check in early, but there was a breakfast tray outside our door. We called front desk and they were to send someone to get it. They needed a 2nd reminder at mid day. When we went to use the lavatory and bathroom stall was out of toilet paper, when we finished swimming there was no place to put the wet towels. We came back from a walk and went to the restaurant and we were not able to sit out side as the tables were reserved, so we sat inside and the service was extremely slow, before they told us there was a party of 35 arriving shortly. For the price we paid the facility we were disappointed they didn't offer a continental breakfast or even vending machines for water or snacks. We had to walk or drive to get snacks or dinner. The restaurant and room service was on the pricey side..

Hotel with mountain view.

The restaurant food was decent, but not spectacular. It was close to the shops and downtown area. Rooms were clean and spacious. Carpeting a bit old. Overall, it was a fine place to stay.

Over charged and we were tugged at a corner.

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: It turned out that although the hotel was close to a beach but the ocean water does not come in - it means instead what we saw was long sandy beach.
Cons: The restaurant served good food but they took too long a time to prepare even though there were not too many customers.
Location: Driving to Coombs, Fanny Bay, Nanaimo was not far.
Front desk persons - the older person was not too friendly, the younger person was helpful but lacks experience - he showed us a wrong map when we asked for direction.

Newer hotel on the beach

Posted May 13, 2015
Pros: New condition, right on the beach, with a boardwalk linked to a nearby park. Close to restaurants and stores. Quiet, free WiFi and parking.
Cons: Room chairs were hard wood and uncomfortable to sit long. It had a fridge but no microwave. Some surfaces were dusty. Vending machine not working.
Location: Beach front property with boardwalk to nearby park. Close to restaurants, shops, mini golf, Rathtrevor provincial park, main highway.
This newer hotel is right on the beach in Parksville. Our room had two Queen beds, a bar sink, bar fridge, three chairs, a small table, flat screen TV, and a balcony from which we had a partial view of the beach. It was comfortable and quiet. There was free WiFi, an in-house restaurant, pool, hot tub and spa. The restaurant was a little pricey for dinner but there was also a Chinese restaurant right nearby and several other eating places within a couple of kilometres. Free underground parking but on busy days the lot is full and you can end up in a dusty gravel "overflow" parking lot.
