Close to the airport

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: comfortable bed; especially liked the breakfast.
Cons: Updating the bathrooms.
Location: Very convenient to the airport. Shuttle to town for the attractions of Nantucket.
Spacious, clean room, older bathroom, no view. Located across from the airport...no airport noise. Shuttle to town was very punctual. Excellent breakfast buffet, with some outdoor seating. Very pleasant.

Okay hotel but across from airport.

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Surprised to learn that hotel is across from airport and you can hear planes pretty clearly coming and going. Staff laid back and women at check in not attentive. Waited 3 hours to check in even though room was ready beforehand. Only serve buffet breakfast, have to walk to airport for lunch or dinner. Hotel is isolated and they do have shuttles but they run infrequently but only to one location in town. Found ants in room but otherwise clean and nicely decorated.

Thank you for your review Arlene. We think that our Expedia listing is quite complete and an accurate representation of the Nantucket Inn. But we do advise our guests to do their research before booking. We apologize if we were not a good fit for your needs.

Auberge éloigné du centre ville

Posted Jun 16, 2015

surprising nice touch - free breakfast & shuttle

Posted May 18, 2015
This hotel has everything that a 4 or 5-star hotel has, & possibly more. While the location for some may be negative, but the free shuttle on the hour makes up for it to a large extent. The hot free breakfast was also a plus. And, the nightly rate with everything included was a great deal.

Overnight getaway

Conveniently located next to the airport, excellent shuttle service to downtown, friendly staff and probably the best breakfast buffet I've seen in recent years.

We had a noise disturbance by one of the other guests staying in an adjacent room. Hotel staff was slow and generally ineffective on dealing with the noise. They gave us another room, which was good, but it took a lot of effort on our part. Facilities are clean and pleasing. I was surprised to see that type of clientele and that type of treatment by the hotel for $280/night! Disappointing.

We are terribly sorry that you encountered a disturbance during your visit. Unfortunately we cannot vet every guest prior to arrival and sometimes excessive guest noise can be a problem. I am concerned that the promptness of our response was not to your satisfaction. We are always interested in improving ourselves and you can be certain that we will review this issue with our staff. Thank you.

Nantucket Inn Experience

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The room and pool were nice
Cons: See review
We arrived late in the evening and checked in. We had booked our room for 1 night through Expedia and were happy with our selection because of the room they offered - 1 king, 1 twin, private bath, Wi-Fi etc as we have three young children. However, when we got to the room it only had 1 king bed so we went back to reception where Brent informed us that this room ( that we booked online ) did not exist and insisted we could not have booked it and we should in fact, in his opinion, have purchased 2 rooms!!! They showed us back to our room and proceeded to put 2 twin beds in the room too essentially blocking the front door. We argued that we needed a different room but it fell upon deaf ears. When he left the room, the telephone rang and it was reception now offering to put us in a double room - still not what we requested and at that stage we decided to stay in our original room with the extra beds ( we did call every other hotel and of course they were fully booked for the night ). The room itself was decent and obviously recently upgraded. Their indoor pool was good too. We had breakfast there which was supposed to be free for us with the room and children ate free. They tried to charge us $72 until we said no, it's supposed to be free isn't it? They said oh yeah....ok then.....and it magically went away!! We just got home to NY and realized we left 2 sweatshirts behind in the room, I just telephoned them and I was assured we didn't leave anything in the room when we did!

Mandy, thank you for taking the time to share you experience at the Nantucket Inn. We do apologize for the confusion with your reservation and do understand your frustration - especially traveling with small children. We work very hard to make sure that all of the information presented on third party booking sites is accurate. In 2015, we have strengthened our relationship with Expedia to provide even better room descriptions along with a more integrated booking process. We trust that you enjoyed your overall visit to Nantucket and hope you will plan to visit the island again. Thank you again for your comments.

A gem!

Posted Jul 18, 2013
A two mile walk into town, the Nantucket Inn is slightly off the beaten path. We happen to love walking, and enjoyed utilizing the bike paths for walking and biking in. They also have a shuttle to and from town every hour and every half hour after 6 PM, making it even more convenient. We also used this feature several times. The breakfast that was included with our package was delicious. Our room was clean although certainly nothing to write home about. Staff was lovely and accommodating. For the price on this island, Nantucket Inn is a gem.
