“Calistoga surprise”

B&B experiences can be hit or miss. Chelsea Garden was a HIT. The Palisades Room was homey & comfy. Judy went out of her way to make everything right for our visit. We have found a new go-to place when travels take us to the Napa Valley.

“Charming California bungalow”

This is a charming little B & B just around the block from Calistoga's main street. Its an old California bungalow. Pluses--location, great breakfast room with great breakfast and nice fireplace. Friendly hostess but not too friendly--lots of privacy. Our room was the Palm Suite, which is the front rooms. It was like a little bungalow on its own, with a nice front room, lovely bedroom, gas stove-type fireplace. Nice linens. Downside? yucky bathroom. Linoleum from the 70s. Think of your grandma's bathroom. This is it. I think they need to gut it and make something worthy of a nice B and B. However that is the only bad thing.
