Nice hotel but lacking

Posted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Room was comfy and well equipped, good bar/fridge and TV. Great bed. Easy to find.
Cons: They should have a full bar and much improved wine selection. Some level of concierge that could help with dining, tasting and other recommendations
Location: Convenient to find but generally we would just never stay in the town of Napa again, just not very cool. Much neater places to stay in the valley.
Hotel is a just slightly off the beaten track but walking distance to downtown Napa, well, if you are not in heels and don't mind a 10 block or so hike. Photos and name imply the hotel is right on the river. It is a bit back from the river, there is a pedestrian walk between you and the river even with a river view room. I do think that is certainly preferable to being on the parking lot side and while view is not worth extra $20 per night, the quiet is. We were on lower floor and probably better being on top floor if I were to do it again. The pool is very small and there is no hot tub. Our real disappointment was with the bar-- not a full bar just beer and wine and amazingly poor selection of wines for being in Napa-- and with front desk staff. We asked for some suggestions on wine tasting and site seeing and just really didn't get anything useful. Everyone was polite enough but didn't really click. There also is nothing very redeeming to the town of Napa itself. We have tended to stay west of Sonoma in previous visits and i think that will be the rule or we'll go north to Yountzville.

Great hotel, walking distance to downtown

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: Bar area Friendly staff Clean Mini Bar gorgeous bathrooms
Cons: N/A
Location: Wineries (Suggest City Winery), drive to Hess Winery (gorgeous) great places to eat walk on the river downtown
We were greeted before we even got to the door. It wasn't very busy since it was the off season. Lobby was very nice and so was the front desk. We stayed on the 3rd floor, all rooms have a balcony which was nice. It was 60 degrees so we had the door open with a nice breeze. The room was very clean, bed comfy, everything you would want in a hotel room. The complimentary wine tasting between 530-630 was nice! Very cool to see the GM serve the wine. The bar was great, staff was excellent and showed us where to should sightsee after we left Napa. The back area was gorgeous and the fire place by the bar. Breakfast was delicious! Hopefully we will make our way back to Napa, and we will no doubt stay back at the River Terrace. TIP: All wineries request reservations, luckily it was off season, we didn't know

Nice hotel near all the napa happenings

Posted Feb 19, 2015
The location of this hotel is great if you are visiting Napa. We were disappointed in the food at the bar, we had some small plates and I would say it was just average. There was no hot tub, the pool was barely warm. Our room was ok, bed was comfy, bathroom was updated and big. (Huge shower) but some things need updating or replacing, toilet didn't work at one point. Some of the furnishings in the main room are older. When we first got there they had complimentary wine tasting every night from 5:30 to 6:30. We were there in February so it was a bit colder but they have a very nice back patio for sitting and sipping wine right by the napa river and they roast marshmallows. If they had a hot tub and some more normal typical cuisine we probably would have spent more time at this hotel in the evening. It was very close to everything in napa and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Make sure you get a decent view and are not on the 2nd floor near the middle because there is a balcony and you will hear everything downstairs. They have free wifi, free coffee, and spa water with fruit in it.

Nice hotel we'll definitely recommend!!!

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: The set up of the room we had was really cozy. The over looking lake makes your morning so positive.
Cons: The breakfast buffet can be improve a little. By adding a variety like pancakes or waffles might attract other people to get this often.
Location: The hotel is not hard to find. It is so close to the main downtown where you can even walk day or night while gazing on the nice surroundings.
Our over all experienced at this hotel is definitely excellent! The customer service given was really pleasant. It makes you stay more often on a short trip. Our 2nd anniversary really went perfect. We'll surely recommend for people to stay at this hotel during there vacation at Napa Valley.:-)
