Fantastic hotel in the heart of a vibrant cityPosted Mar 8, 2014
The hotel is clean, comfortable and extremely well thought out. The views of vesuvius are amazing as is the proximity to the historic centre of the city. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The breakfast is fantastic value if not included in the room rate, but we wouldn't recommend the dinner which we found expensive and not very nice at all. It is true, parts of the city are quite run down, including this one and most areas suffer from a lack of investment but that doesn't detract from its chaotic vibrancy. It probably won't suit all sensibilities but we loved it. There are cars outside the hotel most of the time which reception will arrange for you, including the price. They will also organise tours, either group or private, which vary in price and some inclusive of lunch and tickets, others not. What they all probably include are visits to a Coral factory and Limoncello shop where the pressure really is on to spend large amounts of money which is a bit uncomfortable if you don't wish to buy anything. I am also not a fan of being followed round shops by staff which is what I encountered in both; by a man with a tray of anything I expressed an interest in, in the Coral Factory and by shop staff (in case I stole anything, I guess) in the Limoncello shop. I wouldn't let it put you off doing a tour, I would just be prepared. If you do want to buy something in the Coral Factory, they will drop their prices about 30% so go armed with your best poker face!

Beautiful HotelPosted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Beautiful interior, rooms and courtyard. Excellent food at the restaurant.
Location: The Duomo is within walking distance, and is a must see. Also a great tour nearby is Naopli Sotterranea - a great underground tour of the city
Had a great time staying at this beautiful hotel. It was comfortable, and clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. If you're staying in Naples, this place is the best. Ask for a courtyard view. Some reviews make comments about the neighborhood - but honestly, if you're staying in Naples, every neighborhood is very similar within the city. They have great security at the hotel and always felt safe.

Lovely hotelPosted Feb 22, 2014
This hotel is excellent, but the surrounding area is grim. However, if you want to stay in old town Naples, it is all grim, so you'd struggle to do much better hotel wise. The first room we were offered had terrible WiFi signal and was tiny (although the bathroom was huge). We asked to try another room and were cheerfully moved to a room with perfect WiFi and was much bigger. The cleanliness was spotless. We didn't try the food as it was so much cheaper to eat out. The staff were very helpful. No complaints about this great accommodation.

A quiet oasisPosted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: A good place to retreat to after a busy day sightseeing
Good facilities, clean and comfortable modern hotel in a fine old building. Convenient for getting around Naples and for station access further afield.

Nice hotel, knowledgeable staff despite off seasonPosted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: The staff were very helpful in advising us on places to eat and helping us to book a table. The bar staff were exceptionally friendly.
Cons: Clearer signage to bar, restaurant and reception and adjustable climate control even in January.
Location: Great coffee shop over the road and a thousand others in the small streets behind. Easily walk-able to main train station and Archaeological Museem
My partner and I went to Naples without much of a plan for a long weekend. The hotel was a welcome site after the bus ride in through the dodgy new areas. The staff were very nice and friendly. The room appeared smaller than we'd expected but the shower was fantastic. The breakfast was good but if its not included go for a pastry and coffee in a cafe for a fraction of the cost. If we were to return to Naples to explore the Amalfi coast, Capri and Sorrento we would stay here again.

Good class of hotelPosted Dec 27, 2013
Very happy with our stay here: we requested a non-street room and (as the place was almost empty) were given a really nice one with a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. The building is an impressively converted school with many nice historical touches - wrought iron railings on our granite balcony, smart communal areas, enormous and impressive entrance gates. Location is great and a short stroll from the Spaccanapoli in the more historic part of town. I recommend the place!

Beautiful hotelPosted Dec 2, 2013
This was our last stop on a trip through Italy. We were very pleased with the hotel room and the building itself is beautiful. It is an oasis in the area. Easy walk from the train station, about 15 mins. But area is dogey so be careful.
