We stayed in this hotel for a night on our trip to Japan, the main appeal was its location: easy walking distance from the train station as well as from local sights. Reception staff were polite and helpful, the room had plenty of space for us and it was comfortable, though it did look a little dated but everything worked as expected. It was an affordable no-frills stay, just what we wanted. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff were trying their best to be helpful as they did not speak very good English. The hotel is very dated and needs quite a lot of work to make it more appealing. The airconditioning unit was not working properly so the room was warm and uncomfortable. It was a reasonably priced hotel for what it is, no complaint there, however, what they charged for the breakfast was very poor value for money indeed. We were given some money-off coupons to be used, and we were still charged over 30 Sterling pounds for a really poor selections of buffet breakfast. There was only 1 type of breakfast cereal, and the other Western food items did not look appetising at all. In order to fill ourselves up, we also tried some Japanese breakfast items which were also short of selections. We went out to a cafe called Vie de France the next morning in the JR train station. We had a far better breakfast with some nice pastries and bread with coffee, and paid less than half of what we paid at the hotel. So, be prepared!!

Big rooms, but old. We slept really well as it was quiet. We were advised to park outside the hotel, it wasn't until the morning I was told I had to pay 1,600 for that, so that news was a disappointing surprise.

Staff can communicate in English. Very helpful. Easy parking even though we need to pay for the parking lot. Very sumptuous breakfast with authentic Japanese style.

The rooms are very small. Breakfast not good for the price. I would recommend to go to local restaurant instead of paying the hotel. It is much cheaper and better.

Nice hotel - good location in Nara
Great hotel really helpful staff and had everything we needed. Really appreciated that the level of blackout for sleeping was really good without too many LED or other lights.

An older place in central Nara. A short walk to the shrines, dinner, shopping etc. Many of the reviews remarked that this was an older place. It is. Deal with it. If they remodeled to have the latest bathroom and room features, they'd have to double their prices. It's clean, quiet, roomy, comfortable, and a bargain. Use your savings and splurge on a great dinner (off the main street). Parking, if you need it,is 50 yards away - for about $7/night

Great location
Very comfortable, well appointed Hotel on Sanjo Dori, the main shopping street that runs from Nara station to the famous deer park. We walked to all the sights from here and very much enjoyed our stay in Nara. Highly recommended.

the hotel is walkable to pretty much everywhere while we were there, shops, restaurants even the deers temple. very respectful and helpful staffs. and yes, they speak english well. clean hotel. one thing we didn't like was the breakfast buffet , it wasn't what we expected for breakfast. overall we give the hotel 5 stars.

The lobby looks far more splendid than the rooms, at least the one I had. It clearly has seen better days. By now it's a bit threadbare and has a lot of indelible spots on carpet, sofa and chair. However, as always in Japan, it was clean and well equipped. The air-conditioning didn't respond to my efforts to adjust and the bum-washer on the toilet probably needs some decalcification. I thought I had reserved a room with breakfast included, but instead I got a coupon of 500 yen for a discount on the 1800 yen breakfast, which is an enormous price for a Japanese breakfast, even discounted. When I inquired, I got to wait for 10 minutes and then the manager appeared and informed me that there was no other deal. He appeared quite arrogant to me. So I went out and got a 200 yen breakfast in a nearby restaurant.

Highly recommended - comfy rooms in great location
We loved this hotel! The rooms were spacious, bright and clean, the bed was comfortable & staff were fluent in English and very friendly. Location wasn't bad either, I have dietary restrictions and didn't have any issues finding a meal from several nearby restaurants. Highly recommend, wish we'd stayed longer.

Nice hotel located conveniently 10 mins walk from train station. Staff helpful and courteous. We were allowed to leave our luggage at reception as we arrived early and when we got back to the hotel the staff had alteady put our luggage in our room which was a nice touch . Breakfast was average and probably not worth the cost.

Perfect location for Kyoto sightseeing, shopping, food just few steps, very near to Kyoto JR station and underground, hotel staff very nice and offer great service, speak good English

A bit old, but a nice location
The hotel is located in a great position for reaching many of Nara's prime tourist locations. It is also close to two JR stations for getting around. The hotel is clearly old-ish. The keycard readers seem to use physical holes instead of digital codes, which wasn't a great sign. The Wi-fi was also quite spotty. But overall, it's a good hotel for a good price.

We took limousine bus directly from KIX airport to Nara, got off at Kintetsu Nara Sta(2nd last stop), walk 5mins to hotel. Room are clean & basic, typical Japanese size, staff are very helpful with the restaurants suggestion. Bike rental available at hotel, there was none available when we were there. We rented our electric bike near Kintetsu Nara Sta. (NARA PARK is massive)

Convenient hotel but terrible smell
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from both the JR and Kintetsu train stations, and on a street with many restaurants and shops. The room and facilities seem to be a bit old. I have requested for a non-smoking room, but there was still a terrible stench of smoke in my room. I liked that they provide free take home slippers though.
