Gaylord Opryland Hotel nice place to stay
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Pros: Very helpful, kind staff.
Cons: Restaurant prices were a bit high. Also had to pay $20 a day to park.
Location: Opryland Mills Shopping Center
My husband and I took our family of six and stayed in adjoining rooms in the Delta area of the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was very well decorated and just beautiful, just like a tropical oasis inside! We learned our way around pretty quickly and enjoyed taking walks through all the different garden and indoor river areas. Our only challenge was at check-in when the long lines took almost an hour to navigate. The hotel restaurants were a bit pricy as well. The service staff was excellent and apologized sincerely when we encountered a trouble with purchasing an on-demand movie for the kids. They were able to quickly solve the problem and I felt that they genuinely cared. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Beautiful
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: Beautiful. Tranquil.
Cons: Shuttle to downtown for Free. More than just two pick-up spots for shuttle. Maybe the U drop-off by pavilion in Delta wing. Free Parking for guests
The place is beautiful and tranquil. Easy to get lost. Food was good at the Fuse sports bar.

All that glitters isn't gold.

Pros: Glamorous common areas
Cons: Hotel service and upkeep of rooms
Location: Perfect!!
The location of this hotel could not be better. It was walking distance from the Grand Ole Opry! The lobby of the hotel was beautiful. The entrance was clean and welcoming. There were many sitting areas with gorgeous sculptures. Restaurants, shops, and photo opportunities sprinkled the massive common areas. HOWEVER, service at front desk was slow and staff seemed overwhelmed and unprepared. The hotel rooms themselves were small. The cleaning staff repeatedly overlooked cleaning corners of room, light fixtures and desk tops, even when verbal and written requests were made. The in-room coffee pot was not cleaned or restocked. This hotel seemed to rely on the location and lobby appeal to book rooms- without any thought to customer service. The spa, however provided a relaxing retreat to patrons. The spa staff was hospitable and eager to please guests. When I was in the "quiet room" just prior to my service, although the coffee machine was broken, and hot water was not available, the spa personnel made me aware of this and provided me with hot water for my tea.

Handicap Accessibility
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: The beautiful gardens
Cons: The $18 a day room charge for things that most don't even take advantage of. Especially a handicap person.
Location: Location is perfect. Close to most everything you want to do and right off the highway if you go further out.
We had a handicap room and it was beautiful with plenty of space. The fact that it was near the elevator was a plus too. The only thing is that we were on the fifth floor and I think all handicap rooms should be on the first floor in case of power outage. I was nervous about how I would get a wheel chair down a five flights of stairs. Also very few doors had handicap buttons to open them so it was difficult to get through doors alone trying to hold the door plus push the chair through.

Unique Hotel worth seeing.
Posted Jan 7, 2013
Hotel is unique. Divided into several areas each with wonderful gardens, amenities. Vey large complex. Hidden costs for parking and shuttle service not included in room-$40 per day. Some rooms have much better view of gardens than others. Overall a nice hotel complex with lots of eating options and great atmosphere.
