Free shuttle service!

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Free shuttle and has a pool.
Cons: Wish there was a hot tub!
Location: Vanderbilt and Belmont nearby. Can catch a Vanderbilt baseball game literally across the parking lot. Downtown Nashville only a shuttle ride away.
We chose to stay here as we wanted to visit Belmont and Vanderbilt and it was very close by. Free shuttle service to downtown was a very nice service until we tried to call to have him pick us up and he did not answer. Taxi service was only $7 or so (we paid $10 with tip) which was no big deal, however, we found ourselves following the shuttle all the way back! The young man at the desk told us they were having an open mike in the lounge so we cancelled our open mike at another place only to find there was a lousy band playing. Unusual as there is so much awesome music everywhere else in Nashville. Other than that, it was a comfortable stay.

No Free Parking!!!!

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: No paid parking. Bathrooms are tiny.
The website says there is free parking which is one of the reasons I chose it. However when I got there they informed me that it's $20/day. No happy about this... This is an old hotel that has been renovated. The new upgrades are nice but the bathrooms are terribly cramped. The best thing about this hotel is the location.

The front desk staff was very nice and helpful and the shuttle service was awesome. The only complaint I have is the pool was only outside .

Clean, newly remodeled, adjacent to Vanderbilt.

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: An easy walk to Vanderbilt University, the Parthenon, and several nice restaurants. We loved the free shuttle downtown and the drivers were great.
Location: Vanderbilt University and Medical Center. Parthenon is across the street & we could see it from our hotel balcony. Free shuttle downtown.
My daughter & I spent 3 nights here as she had a job interview at Vanderbilt Medical Center. We loved the location and would stay here again without hesitation. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I have no complaints.

Nice hotel, recently renovated, friendly staff, nice room. Got the hot breakfast buffet in the restaurant for only $10 extra a day for the two of us and it was definitely worth it. They even had a singing concierge -- we had a great stay in Nashville!

Great location, close to downtown - free shuttle!

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: Clean and quiet. Our rooms were directly across from the elevators and didn't hear a thing!
Cons: Although the balcony is small, it would be nice to have a couple chairs to sit on, even if only folding chairs.
Location: There are grocery stores, and popular pharmacies and restaurants within blocks.
We booked a last minute stay at this hotel through Expedia. The hotel staff is very friendly, and the hotel itself is newly remodeled, the rooms are clean and the balcony facing the park is a bonus!

Nice place!

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: comfortable beds, well equiped, convenient location and friendly staff inside the hotel
Cons: Shuttle driver could learn to treat a guest like a guest
Location: location was great and very close to the airport and local attractions
Everything was great, however if you are staying there for a "working trip" and need to load a van with people and stay where they can find you be prepared to be scolded by the elderly shuttle driver on where to park with lots of pointing. Ha! The staff there was great, rooms were great, shuttle driver was less than great.

Best so far

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Staff. Fresh decor.
Cons: Coffee in the lounge.
Location: Cumberland Transit outdoor wear store across the street is awesome.
With a son at Vanderbilt, we've had the opportunity to stay at several of the hotels close to campus. This was our first stay at the West End Holiday Inn though we've visited the Commodore room on the first floor for a singer-songwriter performance event. We found the staff exceptionally friendly (we're looking at you Brittany) and the room appeared to have been recently renovated and emaculate. Only complaint is that the (free) coffee we made in the machine provided in the room was way better than what we paid for at the coffee bar in the lounge.

Off downtown hotel

Posted Apr 2, 2015
Pros: The location was good for our trip, it was new and clean.
Cons: They could offer more than 1 free shuttle on the weekends and some of the drivers could be more friendly.
Location: Close to Midtown, where we ended up hitting a bunch of bars & restaurants. Tavern, Whiskey Rhythm, Soulshine Pizza, and Two Boots Pizza!
Our experience with the Holiday Inn was better then I expected. The staff were extremely helpful.

A comfortable experience

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: A bigger buffet, and a diverse variety in the menu when it comes to breakfast.
Location: Downtown area where basically all bars, stadiums, and shops are located.
I stayed at this hotel last week for the NASCC Steel Conference and for the pricing it met all its factors. The hotel was nice, the hotel staff were always there if you needed help. I had read a lot of reviews prior to booking this hotel and was skeptical at first due to the comments of the remodeling process it was going through. I have to say that the remodel work that was done on this place was great. Very clean throughout the whole place, the room itself was warming and overall the sleep experience was even greater. One of the best sleeps I've had in a hotel, and the best part about it all is the shuttle bus that the hotel offers. Breakfast was overall good, you can choose from a buffet that they offer or you can chose from the menu provided. The gym that the hotel offered was good, it was able to target all body parts, and they had various size dumbbells which is a plus that not many hotel gyms offer. Close to the downtown area within 10 minutes which the shuttle bus will take you and pick you up. When I return to Nashville I will definitely look into this hotel to rebook once again.
