Comfortable room BUT

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: very close to downtown area.
Cons: better service in housekeeping
Location: loved that the service van would take us and pick us up to venues close by.
had to call when room not cleaned by 5:30 pm. Housekeeping under staffed? We were sent a bottle of wine for the inconvience. Turn down room service was a hit and miss! But great when we had it. Valet staff over the top. Laura, lead concierge, was great! (take leassons from Laura!) Resturant food and bar very good!

Very nice place

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Great staff. Very accommodating. Only problem was the desk person failed to explain a hold on my credit card for any possible damage to the room upon our check out. This resulted in my canceling my card when I viewed the charge on my bank account.I later had the charge explained. Too late to reinstate my card however.

Best place to stay at when visiting Vandy

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: The staff
Cons: The prices are a little high. I stayed in a suite once and it was priced like the hotel was in New York.
Location: It's perfect because you have both Vandy and great places to eat within walking distances.
The Hutton is by far the best place to stay while visiting your kid at Vandy. The Loews down the street was just remodeled but still isn't as nice as the Hutton. The staff is what makes the place "Excellent". They seem to feel lucky to work at the hotel and go out of their way to make you feel good. As a world traveler, the Hutton try's to give you a little of New York or Chicago in Nashville. There are a couple problems, like all hotels, and one is it isn't cheap. I don't mind paying retail if I get what I want but it's a little expensive for Nashville. The rooms are small too. It's not a big thing because they've fit everything you in need in the rooms. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are excellent.

Thank you for giving us your feedback about your stay at the Hutton. We appreciate hearing from our guests. Our central location in the Midtown area is great for visiting your children at Vanderbilt University among other great areas around Nashville. We are very proud of our staff and I’m glad they went out of their way to make your experience memorable. The custom bedding and the rainfall shower heads are two of our guest’s favorite amenities! Thank you again and we look forward to your next stay with us. Warm Regards, Denise Vandersall Hutton Hotel General Manager

Nice hotel with excellent staff

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Every staff member was pleasant and friendly. Bed was very comfortable. Shower rain head was fantastic.
Cons: Elevators were fairly slow on the weekend but no issues during the week.
Location: Lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. A mile walk to down town so very doable.
Unfortunately there is another hotel under construction next door and this made it difficult to walk when leaving or approaching the hotel.

Thank you for your positive comments regarding the hotel and our excellent staff. I will pass your positive comments along to them at our next staff meeting. The construction has certainly abated as they are completing the work on their new facilities. I would like to apologize for any inconveniences our neighbor’s construction may have caused you while our guest. We will all certainly be glad when we our neighbors complete their projects. We look forward to having you back with us on your next visit to Music City. Warm Regards, Denise Vandersall Hutton Hotel General Manager

4 night stay

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Location: Chuy's Mexican restaurant was very good.
Hotel staff was very courteous and professional as were the shuttle drivers. We were upgraded to a suite secondary to being an Expedia Elite Plus member and while this room was nice we did not like the fact that you had to put your room card into a slot in order to use the lights and we also thought the room was a little dated. The shower was also different in that you had to turn it on outside the stall and no adjustments could be made while showering unless to stepped back out of the shower. We did however like the showerhead being directly overhead. The TV's were irritating as they always started with the same movie preview versus just turning on to a normal channel. Overall, a nice hotel with well trained staff.

Work Trip

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Hotel was fantastic. Perfect location between Midtown and Downtown. Great service the minute you pull in, staff was extremely friendly and helpful, checked right in with no issues. Room was more than I expected. Good size, bed was very comfortable, nice TV and bathroom was one of the best to date in any hotel I've stayed at. Had a couple drinks at bar and bartenders were awesome. Liked to talk sports and gave me the lay of the land for Nashville.

Beautiful hotel

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: friendliness, helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, beautiful guest rooms especially the bathroom with glass sink and square toilet
Cons: More electrical outlets
Location: Very convenient to the downtown honkytonk area and within 15 minutes of the Opry and the fabulous mall next door to it, tours of the stars' homes,
Hutton Hotel is a beautiful hotel in downtown Nashville. We stayed there in July. The efficient and courteous valet staff met us right away when we drove up to the hotel, opening our doors and unloading our luggage. They quickly explained our choices of parking our van. As we walked into the hotel, any staff that was not busy with a customer, spoke to us or at least smiled at us. The concierge was very helpful. She let us know that the hotel provided transportation to downtown Nashville or up to a mile or two from the hotel. She also provided printed directions to and from any location we asked about. The housekeeping staff was friendly and spoke to us in the hallway when we saw them. They also left us a water bottle and snack every night. The restaurant was very nice. We ate several meals there. The food was delicious.

Definitely a nice place to stay. The room I was in (deluxe king) seemed a little cramped but nice. The shower has a rainfall style shower head and is pretty fantastic. My only complaint is the poor attitude from the turndown service people.
