Save money a bit out of downtownPosted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: Great breakfast buffet & downtown shuttle.
Cons: Customer service!
Location: At the Opry Mills mall, there was an amazing restaurant called the Aquarium with sharks, sting rays, an 80+ pound grouper - awesome! Good food too.
Front desk was fine at check out - - less helpful for any other purpose. The vending machine on our floor was a "Coke" machine but had no Diet Coke. Asked at front desk if any floor had Diet Coke in their machine and was told "I don't know" with no offer to find out. We were on 9th floor and they have a ballroom on the 10th floor and there was a wedding reception going on with loud music that we could hear very clearly in our room. At 11:20 I called to see when it was going to be over and the front desk just said "Oh, it's supposed to end at 11:00, so they should be wrapping up." It finally ended at 11:40. Otherwise, the bed was firm but comfortable, the breakfast buffet included with stay was excellent, and the free shuttle was great. The bathroom was very small with the mirror and sink outside as part of the room and no fan/vent in the bathroom portion. Their was plenty of parking and a gas station/convenience store across from the parking lot (that did have Diet Coke! :).

NicePosted Oct 27, 2014
I liked the hotel. Food was decent, the shuttle service was great. I wish the hotel had more room amenities and things to do such as a refrigerator, hot tub, and so forth. Overall it was alright

Stayed for two nights. Room was well taken care of. Hotel staff was quite accommodating. Their wireless network went down. Staff worked well to accommodate us.

We had a lovely stay at the Maxwell. Shame about the shuttle bus. The days we went Down Town waiting up to a hour, we called the hotel letting them know we were waiting..Guests Need to be informed of waiting tiime. We were left in town one evening the driver informed us another shuttle we pick us up his shuttle was full.We waited for along time ended up getting a taxi very poor.

Not located directly downtownPosted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: I liked that it was easy to get too and from places throughout the city
Location: Conveniently located off of 65, only a couple of miles to downtown. It was also close to a neighborhood called Germantown which had good restaurants.
Perhaps I misread but the hotel is not located downtown as I thought. It is a couple of miles away from downtown and you must drive. That being said, it's very easy to get downtown from, and to other locations throughout the city as well. Things were fairly clean, just in need of updating. The area around the sink is carpeted and it always felt damp. The noise level was terrible; you could hear everything. When housekeeping was going to a room near ours, I thought they were coming to ours because the sound of the beeping from the room key was so clear. Most of the staff was extremely nice.

Noisy and UnprofessionalPosted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: The personnel were friendly but some were a bit incompetent.
Cons: A little better hotel security might prevent some of these things from escalating or continuing. The hotel should invest a little in updating.
Location: Broadway was excellent, of course, and is only a couple of miles away. I wouldn't walk it, but it is a very short drive.
I was in town for a business conference that was being held in another hotel. I stayed at this hotel as it was only a couple of miles away. The facilities were old and somewhat dilapidated. The veneer was peeling up badly from the bottom of my door. There were groups of people yelling and running up and down the halls during the night and I even had a knock on my door from a pizza delivery man at 1am who had gone to the wrong room. I awoke to a fog in my room and a layer of dust all over everything only to venture into the hall to find that a fire extinguisher had been discharged during the night and the entire floor was covered in a layer of powder. In addition planters had been knocked over near the elevators and potting soil was all over the floor. These things were great fun back in the dorms during college, however as business traveler that had to catch a 7am flight I wasn't as amused.
