Nice hotel

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, clean rooms, clean bathrooms on site
Cons: Just the explanation of benefits
Location: We had enough to keep us busy every day
We had an absolutely great time, everything was perfect with the exception of us not knowing that we had a $200 winter credit included with our stay. We discovered this when we received our checkout papers. When we checked in, the hotel clerk asked for a credit card and then imprinted it and gave me the hotel room key card and told us we had a $200 credit. That was it. We took that to mean that we could charge up to $200 a day with our hotel key that would be charged to our Discover card. It was not explained to us that it was a $200 winter credit that was a bonus when we booked our trip. I wish the clerk would have explained what the credit was, as we used cash for most things and left a decent sized balance on the winter credit because we were unaware of that bonus. Other than that, had a great time and would definitely come back.

Great trip

Loved it! Perfect weather, beautiful complex. Great for kids and adults. A bit pricey and some things were a bit over the top (couldn't get a plastic spoon with the 4 oz snow cone--only 12 oz--really????) otherwise great.

Costs More than Hawaii

Posted Apr 15, 2014
If you live on the West Coast skip this place. It will take you twice as long to get there and cost twice as much for food and activities than Hawaii. This is a total family resort, not a romantic one. The water park is great and the lazy river isn't so lazy, it is the best one I have been in.

Disappointed

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Family Friendly - water slides
Cons: see above
Over-priced!!! The room was nothing more than ordinary and for $500/night very disappointing. It smelled, had a running toilet, toilet clogged, tiles chipped in bathroom, bathtub was refinished with paint and was chipping everywhere, fridge was locked and warm once opened, clock did not work, called 3 times to request a different room (perhaps w/an Ocean view) and was told management or someone would call me back - they never did... Food was nothing to write home about. Brookfield Asset Management may want to rethink their Business Model because they are doing an incredibly poor job managing/maintaining this property.

A 3 star hotel

A very dead hotel. For families only & very expensive for the lack of services & choices you get. Unfortunately not much choices in hotel & resorts to stay in Nassau. If you want fun & gambling experience, go to Vegas or Macau.

Overall, just ok.

Pros: It's proximity to all of the activities.
Location: There is not much to do outside of the hotel grounds. Everything is encased on the premises and I felt that they had a monopoly on your activities.
Atlantis is extremely expensive. The hotel includes nothing and charges for EVERYTHING! A bottle of water from the mini bar in the room was $3.50, and only if you leave the property, which isn't very easy, can you buy things cheaper. I don't think that it was very good value for the money. Housekeeping in the room was highly lacking. They forgot towels, coffee service and many other things, daily.

Alantis Trip

Pros: Aquarium is outstanding. Plenty to do without leaving the site.
Cons: Prices for food were at premium "resort prices".
Location: Variety of activities available on-site.
Great hotel! The aquarium and water park are outstanding. Meals can get a bit pricey.

15% mandatory gratuity

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Hotel and facilities are very nice but the service was marginal and the mandatory 15% gratuity on all food and beverages (even at the buffet and the fast food options) sure seemed to eliminate any incentive to hire competent people or to encourage them to provide quality service. Food prices were ridiculous. Extra charges for things that should have been included like wi-fi, fitness room, local calls, etc. were irritating.

Great service!!

Wish you would be warned about the mini bar at check in. Charged when item removed and then put back .
