Away from the frenzy of town, and great staffPosted Jan 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had lots of room in this suite, and everything worked well. The kitchen was adequately appointed, and enabled us to cook a lot of our own food - eating out in Nassau is expensive! The staff was very helpful and friendly. If you want to get away from the cruise ship crowds and the casino at Atlantis, this is the place to stay. It's about a 25 minute walk to the tourist shopping areas, Bahama Divers will also pick you up here.

Nice enough, a bit datedPosted Jan 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Paradise Island is amazing. Rooms are huge, but everything is a bit dated. Getting info out of the hotel staff is like drawing blood from a stone. Would we go back, probably not. The bed was covered by this old disgusting blanket, which was a major turn off. Rest was clean.

Not really CARINGPosted Jan 8, 2014
When we arrived we found out that our room had 2 single beds. We clearly indicated in the booking that we were travelling with 2 children (2 and 4 yrs old) but we wrongly interpreted the 'twin beds' sizes. The hotel management reply was that they had to stick to the booking request and could no provide us any other alternative for the first 2 nights as they did not have any room available in that price range. An upgrade would have costed me almost double the price!! Internet was down all night and morning after..Lights in the bedroom did not work....Safe was closed. I wouldn't call this exactly value for money... On second day they assembled together the 2 single beds and proposed we would move to another room on 3rd day. They kept apologizing for the incovenience of the first night but when I asked why they couldn't upgrade us for the first 2 nights at least the answer was all about money...not really caring about our comfortable stay. Thank you - we'll never come back again.

A RElaxing Time at the Best WesternPosted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: I liked the locaton of the hotel which was walking distance to the beach and Atlantic Hotel. I liked the cleanliness of my hotel quarters.
Cons: A person who assist in carring luggage to and from hotel quarters.
Location: You are a ten minutes walk to the public beach and a twenty minutes to the Atlantic hotel.
The hotel personnels were helpful and hospitable. the atmospere of the hotel was very serene. In addition the hotel has excellent security.

Pros: It was more private and quiet than the big hotels.
Cons: Needs some updates to the rooms and furniture. I booked a 2 bedroom Villa but was given a 2 floor townhouse instead? No one informed me ahead?
Location: Good location
We had a great time.

Quiet alternative to big resort hotelsPosted Dec 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Loved the Best Western and its staff! Very helpful. The venue is quiet, includes a kitchen in each 4-room suite. We'll stay there again when we return to the Bahamas in 2014.

A strange location for a hotel.Posted Dec 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
I found this hotel average in every way. Nothing bad or disappointing but equally I am not rushing to rebook. It is located in a residential neighbourhood about 15 minutes walk from any other resort on Paradise Island. No view of the beach or ocean. Be aware that it is a 30 minute transfer from the airport as a minimum, if you go direct.

Great location, nice grounds, great pricePosted Nov 27, 2013
Pros: Location, roomy, great staff
Cons: Update the furniture and bathroom
I've stayed here at least 4 times in the past 2 years and am always happy. The staff are wonderful, the grounds are beautifully kept, and the setting is intimate (especially when compared with the nearby luxury mega-hotels). The rooms are a little dated, but this is easily compensated by having a full kitchen and separate living area.

Good for family vacation, not for business tripPosted Nov 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
I stayed one night on a business trip. Not an ideal location for that purpose. I arrived early evening, the tiny convenience store and tiny restaurant were closed and the Atlantis resort is about a 10 minute walk away. Nothing around to eat or see. Since I did not want to walk in the dark in an unfamiliar neighborhood, I was lucky to have some water and food with me that I had purchased at the airport. The convenience store is not well stocked, mainly small chips bags, chocolate bars, and sodas. The apartment-style rooms are spacious, with a bedroom with TV, basic kitchen, and large sitting and dining area incl. sleeping sofa and 2nd large flat-screen TVs. Overall, more suitable for a family vacation. The AC is rather loud, the refrigerator too, so I turned both off during the night.
