Loved the Bahamas, the Melia was lovely!Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: The staff are welcoming.... The hotel has alot to offer. Great views, beautiful beach.......
Cons: Service could be quicker, but this is the Bahamas - people are more chilled and take their time! But all in all I was happy!
Location: The Melia has a shopping spot across the road and in the hotel, casino near by. Beach - take a boat, snorkel, jetski, or go downtown take a bus ride
I will be returning back to the Bahamas real soon, it was like paradise to me.... The Melia on Cable beach was a joy to stay at, breathtaking views on the beach, not super crowded, actually it was very peaceful. Numerous outdoor pools, beach super clean, beautiful. Cable beach and The Melia will be my preferred choice again, many go to the Atlantis on Paradise Island, I feel like that hotel is too near downtown - also with too many tourists staying there.... The Melia has its own nice spot on the island - I felt it was perfect to be away from the everyday hustle and bustle, but still if you want to go into town the bus arrives every 5 mins, for a 15 min journey to downtown.

Great for a long weekend with friendsPosted Jul 21, 2014
I stayed here in May 2014 for my bachelorette weekend. Overall, I was pleased with the experience. The rooms were comfortable and clean, beaches were great, and food was quite good. All in all, it was a great value for our weekend away, and I would return for a long weekend with my husband. I'd rate the hotel a 3.5/5 overall. Tip: Everyone in our group chose the all-inclusive option. I would definitely recommend this, as the list prices on the menu were pretty offensive. Good: - The whole Cable Beach area is super accessible from the airport (15 minute cab ride), so this was a perfect tropical location for a long weekend. - Great beach (this is where our group spend all of our time). Pool area seemed well maintained as well. - Comfortable and clean rooms. They looked as though they had been updated recently. - Food quality at the buffet and formal restaurant exceeded our expectations. Excellent by all-inclusive standards, and really very good in general. Bad: - Service was sub-par. The wait at the beach bar was so long that we started ordering our drinks two at a time and no one was offering to take our order on the beach. - Long waits for the buffet and breakfast and dinner (make reservations at the sit-down restaurant for dinner) - Strict beach towel rules - We had to check a towel out each morning and check it back in at the end of the day. - Not much in the way of nightlife, but we took a cab to The Atlantis for a fun night out.

Great beach areaPosted Jul 19, 2014
Overall experience was positive, very active hotel with something happening every day, live music and saxophonist playing every evening at the bar near main lobby, indoor access to casino next door, beach bbq with entertainment(acrobatics). Would definitely consider this hotel again.

Worst hotel experiencePosted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The hotel was clean.
Cons: If it isn't too much to ask, can the hotel actually have towels?
Location: I wouldn't know, I took the hotel staff so long to get anything done, I didn't have time to explore.
It took roughly twenty minutes to check in. Then after stating they needed to copy my passport they returned my credit card but not my passport. Upon entering our room realized we did not the king bed as stated in our confirmation. I returned to the front desk to retrieve my passport and ask about getting the wrong room. This time it only took thirty five minutes to talk to a front desk member. I was told they do not guarantee any room types and they did not have my passport. I reassured them they did have it and they eventually agreed to look for it, and sure enough they found it. I still questioned why I was even offered different rates and different room types if they don't guarantee any room types. I assume now you book the cheapest room and hope for a suite. In my absence my girlfriend was up in the room and well another family walked in on her. The hotel had double booked the room. We soon realized we did not have towels and called the front desk to get towels. They told us they would send towels up. After and hour I decided to visit the front desk. They called housekeeping with me standing there and housekeeping said all the towels were in the dryer and they would send them up as soon as possible. We never got towels that night. Again in the morning we called down asking for towels, we finally got them two hours later, five minutes before checkout time. This was not an isolated incident, talking to other guests in the lobby we were all having the same issues.

pleasant stayPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The hotel had daily activities that were very good in planning your own list of things to do
Cons: Hotel maintenance is critical. The hallways needed touch-up painting. the balconies need painting and patching.
Location: The location was convent to local transportation only. There no other business close to the hotel for touring or eating
The reception personnel at the desk where customer service friendly. They provide options and answer all of our questions. Potentially, I would stay again. The beach was wonderful. The grounds were clean daily

Nice ambience with a great beachPosted Jul 8, 2014
Great hotel on a beautiful beach with very nice amenities. Rooms were comfortable and updated and the staff was very friendly. A great location if you want to stay away from the hectic busyness of Atlantis.

Great Beachfront HotelPosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Beachfront area
Cons: The layout of the hotel made it inconvenient to access the rooms from the elevator. Long walk to room from elevator.
Location: Just a few minutes drive from other beaches, downtown, restaurants, and Paradise Island. Great for taking a jog right out the front door of hotel.
Hotel is centrally located with a short drive downtown and to other local destinations. The daiquiri bar and small marketplace across the street were a real treat. The pool and beach areas were excellent. The calm and clear water in the lagoon type beach was awesome for swimming and just relaxing.

Not what I expected. Just an average hotel.Posted Jul 7, 2014
This hotel definitely needs updating. If you do not have all inclusive, the food at this hotel is very expensive. There is a hotel fee of $40 per day, which is absolutely crazy. Our sink wasn't working properly. The room was very cold.
