“ok for the money”
after reading a lot of reviews I was stressed about the hotel and our stay there. Took our whole family (6 adults, 5 children) for Thanksgiving. The hotel is old and needs a complete redo but the rooms were clean altho bathrooms left a lot to be desired, the staff was friendly and helpful, the food was plentiful if not exactly gourmet and readily available as were the drinks. The children loved teh pool and private beach which was small but perfect for young ones. the pool furniture was dismal and very uncomfortable and many of the lounge chairs were broken. They definitely need to replace all the pool furniture. The children spent a few hours in teh "kid camp" and enjoyed them but preferred to be outside in such beautiful weather. My stress level definitely dropped after arrival and a great time was had by all. Would recommend to others with the caveat that you get what you pay for and if expecting luxurios accommodations you will be disappointed but if you go knowing it is a 2 1/2 -3 star location, you will have a good time and be satisfied. What the hotel lacks in luxury is made up by the people who work there who did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable.
“Staff Awsome!! Rooms Aful!!!”
As A whole a good trip. ! The Staff at the Paradise Harbors resort were TOP NOTCH! ( Special props to the staff at the wahoo bar and grill ) That said. the rooms are HORRENDOUS! Upon check in, we were toldthat the rooms we requested were not available. We requested King size bed and a water view, were given double bed with a fabulous view of the tennis court. the hotel itself was kept at an uncomfortably cold 60 degrees F. Of the three restaurants at the hotel, one was closed, one was basic (average) Buffet style food. While plentyful, count on a stone cold breakfast. The outdoor facilities were average at best. the private beach was Small, ( A five minute walk to cabbage beach is WELL worth the trip. Cant wait to go back to the bahamas, but will steer well clear of PHR
“Not Impressed AT ALL!!”
This hotel could have been very nice but it needs to be UPGRADED really, really bad. Our water from the faucets were so muddy we could not use it for a few hours. I like coming to Paradise Island but I will be requesting another hotel in the future.
“OMG NEVER AGAIN”
When I walked into the lobby I said to my husband ..what have we done... we got to the check in they could not find our reservation my head started to spin, the girl said we dont have you here then I thought oh thank god we are in the wrong place lets go get a taxi and find our hotel because this can't be it, then she said hold on let me see if expedia sent it over, low and behold there it was among a heap of papers, so I ask again is this the paradise habour resort she said yes I ask are you sure ? she grin, at this point the musty smell greeted us but I thought lets just make the best of the situation, once we were checked in we got to the room the bedding was dirty the windows seem as if they had not been cleaned for decades not to mention the floor you better not take off your shoes, the staff was rude never again what a nightmare...never again the management should be ashamed..of this dirty motel.
“Horrible ! Simply Horrible”
First of all...let me just tell you that this place is NOT a resort ! Let's just say its worst than a Motel 6 ! We were only there for 3 nights but it was the most horrible experience me and my family have ever encountered. We started out with a room next to the elevators which was very noisy, then we come to find out that the toilet did not work and neither did the air conditioner. So they gave us another room - my husband went to go take a shower and the water literally ran BROWN - yuckie disgusting fowl smelling brown water - we called the front desk and they told us to let it run for a while and it will fix - we let it run for about 20 mins - went down and came back a couple of hours later to find the same dirty water again - switched rooms again - first day - water seemed ok. Then the next day - power went out on the 12 floor where we were and once again- filthy dirty brown water - my family was now scared to even brush their teeth so I went out and bought bottled water - we called front desk - same reply - let the water run. Anyway, we ended up taking showers at our friends hotel room in the Atlantis ( was nice, cleaner and far better ) Food at this hotel - rotten milk, bugs on desserts The pool area- nasty, the beach...oh my godness - nasty nasty !!!! Its right next to the marina and you can see all the build-up (dirt) in the water ! The only thing this place had was a hand-full of nice people, other than that it is a complete waste of your money !
“I had the best time!”
I had the greatest time, the pool deck bar was very good. Their food was really delicious and walking in not having to worry about carrying any money i loved that. I cant wait to go back! it was walking distance to Atlantis where they have so many beautiful site seeing views. The rooms in the hotel are not 5 star rating but its worth the stay. We literally woke up and went to the beach and to any other activities available. We were hardly at the hotel. We just went there to sleep and shower.
“Hotel Needs repair seriously”
The only thing that made this hotel bearable was the fact that it was all inclusive! Beware of the elevators, while we were there one of the elevators fell four floors slamming into the ceiling of the lobby sending debris everywhere!! The floors did not look clean even though the maid had just mopped the floor. Also the power went out on the 12th floor, and was out for hours!. If you bought a calling card please note the hotel will charge you a dollar per call, cause the pay phone in the lobby does not work if you are using a calling card. also note that you can only get internet service in the lobby not in your room but the lobby, and they want to charge you $16.00 per day for the internet service, that you will only be able to get in the lobby. If you can please avoid going to Nassu the first two weeks of June; why you might ask? I will tell you "Grad Week". A bunch of 18 yrs old kids you are drunk, rude, and mindless running all over the hotel like they have lost their minds!! You will not be able to get a drink at the bar because of these disrepectful kids, who will not get out of the way. I really dont think all of the kids were 18 yrs old, but the hotel didn't ask for ID, as they were serving them drinks all night long. The breakfast buffet was really good, lunch was not good at all, and dinner was a hit and miss. The staff was friendly but they were not forthcoming with information unless you asked them a specific question.
“Great Budget Experience”
Bahamians go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying yourself! The staff at this hotel is no different. It's not the fanciest joint on the beach, but the service is wonderful and you'll have more rum punch than you'll ever need. The buffet is OK - you certainly won't starve. Skip the "fine dining" experience (the restaurant you need to make a reservation at), unless you are looking for a good laugh. The coffee is absolutely terrible and comes from a box. Water is nearly impossible to obtain. There's a cooler in the bar area by the pool but there are only little, plastic cups to fill. Water is expensive in the shops downstairs. Buy off property if you can. You can't beat the location of the hotel! Atlantis is less than a 10 minute walk. Cabbage beach is a 10 minute walk. The hotel offers the use of bikes for free - take advantage. The locals will hound you to rent a chair or buy jewelry, t-shirts or have your hair braided. A simple "no thank you" and they will be on their way. Taxi's are always parked out front - negotiate a price and skip the meter. It's far cheaper as they really want your business. The hotel and rooms are in need of an update, but you get what you pay for and the service really makes up for the OK accomodations. I would return.
“Not returning.....”
May 2011 trip was definitely not what I had in mind. The hotel was outdated, the food was not good and the running water stinks like sewage. The food on the menu was not tasty or just overly spicy. The water in bathroom ran black for about 15 seconds before clearing up but had a fowl sewer smell. This place sits beside a container yard. The beach is actually the port side of island. You are confined to a small piece of beach surrounded by a broken down boardwalk-like dock. If you want to go to the public beach good luck not getting harassed by the locals offering drug, prostitutes or just begging for money. The ONLY plus is that it is 4 blocks from the Atlantis!
“not impressed”
We got a very good deal as far as price goes, however, when we arrived to the hotel we quickly realized it did not look anything how the pictures online looked. We payed for an ocean view, when we got into our room... we had an construction view of the yard next to the hotel. It took the person working 4 differnt room changes to finally give us an ocean view. The room's were very old, the shower was rusted, the room had a musty smell to it. The lagoon looks nothing like the pictures... it was verrrrry small. Tho, it was close to a beautiful public beach, about a % min. walk. The only good thing about this hotel was the food. For an all inclusive hotel the food was good...

Paradise Island, New Providence Island, Bahamas: Paradise Island resembles Las Vegas-upon-the-Caribbean with its fanciful resorts and white sands. Tourists often head to the islands casinos, five-star restaurants, and shopping gallerias; its beaches, water parks, and nightclubs, however, are geared primarily for resort guests. The Potters Cay fish market is an easy detour from Paradise Island. Grouper and conch are typical catches of the day.
