Very nice accommodation.Posted May 6, 2015
Pros: Good family vibe. Nearby Cove too loud and trendy.
Cons: More food/ drink availability. At pool and in lobby. Evening turndown service would also be great.
Location: It's Atlantis, enough said. Suggest you get out of Atlantis and dine at The One and Only one nightIt's what a real vacation in the Caribean feels like
I just returned from a stay at The Reef. I was overall very pleased with the hotel room itself. If you must go to Atlantis it's the best place to stay. A few things to know. I stAyed in a studio suite and the kitchen area is very small. Ok for making coffee or a snack but it's really too small to make a meal. Although, we heated up several leftovers for lunch in the microwave...You will be eating leftovers once you see your restaurant bill at any of the Atlantis restaurants!! Another point to know is that there is no restaurant there for breakfast. Call me crazy, but isn't that what vacation is all about? Starting the day with a bagel from Starbucks, which is located in the lobby gets old! Besides that, the Starbucks line was always miles long!!! The pool area offers no drink or food service. another negative for me. You can get up and order a drinks and food at a quick service bar but again, isn't this what vacation is all about?? At these prices I expect more conveniences.

Beautiful hotelPosted May 4, 2015
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Reef. The hotel was beautifully decorated with class and clean. Our room was very nice and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the 24 hour Atlantis shuttle bus service. Our entire trip was absolutely amazing.

Great family vacation during spring breakPosted Apr 7, 2015
Cons: We lost hot water pressure everyday around 5pm +/- 1h. It would go down to a trickle sometimes. Probably because of everyone showering at same time.
Location: Food onsite is ridiculously expensive. Fortunately we ordered groceries ahead of time online and had it delivered. I'd highly recommend it.
We had a truly great time at this resort during spring break in late March. We traveled there with two kids, 1.5 and 4.5 years old. The resort in enormous and beautiful. Staff was uniformly friendly. We were pleasantly surprised that the daily resort fee was already included in the booking price through Expedia, which meant free internet and other minor things. There are so many things to do. We spent 5 nights there and probably only experienced about half of what the resort offered. There is a lot of water activities like water slides and rapid river rides on tubes. Unfortunately, our kids were too small to do the water slides (you have to be at least 48 inches). However, our older one was able to do the rapid river rides while riding with an adult. The pools were very nice and the ones on the Reef side of the resort were not crowded even during peak times. The pools in the main areas of the resort (where the water activities are) were much more crowded. There are small life jackets around all the pools that our youngest used in the water, which was really convenient. The beach outside the Reef and Cove was also very clean, white sand, and not too crowded, though you do need to get out there earlier if you want a lounge chair in the first row at the water's edge. There were lots of fish in the shallow waters which was great. Water temperature was about 82F in late march. Our best family vacation so far. Definitely would return in the future.

More expensive than NYPosted Apr 4, 2015
Be prepared to pay a lot for any type of food. No reasonably priced alternatives. The place use HUGE! I went the week before Easter and the atmosphere felt like Disneyland. The beach is good and the facilities are top notch. People are very friendly but unprepared for anything unusual. It's been a while since I had young childreen so this place is not for me. My fault as I picked the place my self.

First class hotelPosted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Great beach, water attractions, shopping, lots of restaurants
Cons: It is a big property with lots and lots of walking - bring good walking shoes, sandals or flip flops
This was our second stay at The Reef. It is a beautiful hotel at the western end of the property. We found it very clean and the staff quite friendly and helpful. The pool is generally quiet and the beach is well maintained. We were a 5 minute walk to the Aquaventure inner tube river water attraction which is always great fun - with or without kids! Remember that most people confuse this attraction with the "real " Lazy River attraction on the other side of the property between Beach and Coral towers. The real Lazy River is very gentle (great for a gentle float with a young child or your Pina Colada!) and you won't get wet unless you want to. You will get very wet on the Aquaventure so wear sunglasses that float in case you fall in! There is a free shuttle that takes you to the other hotels on the property which is nice after dinner if you don't want the walk. With almost everyone needing their morning coffee fix, the Starbucks in the lobby is often quite busy - so go early or wait until the rush is over. The Reef provides a nice quiet relaxing environment that contrasts with some of the other busier parts of the property. Prices are resort typical - a tad on the high side but expected for an island that has to import everything. Overall, a great stay.

Fun For families who like water activities onlyPosted Feb 21, 2015
Weather is cool in dec, jan & feb in bahamas unless you are lucky. This resort is great for famlies who want lots of water activies. Not for couples who want a quiet getaway Higher end Restaurants are good but expensive, expect to spend $400 for 2 people with wine Lower end restaurants are not very good. Ifyou dont want to go down a waterslide, swim with dolphins or ride tube on the lazy river go somewhere else. Also the reef property has an ongoing problem with the hot water or the lack of it which they are unsble to fix when the hotel is full

Huge resort. Good for families. Overpriced.Posted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: Staff. Waterpark great for kids
Cons: Not feel like I am being taken advantage of at every turn by jacking up the prices of everything. A separate fee for the gym, really?
Not my favorite place.mtoo big & overpriced. Staff was wonderful. Alarm went off in room at midnight. For over an hour. Prices are exorbitant.
