Perfect and quiet

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Location, luxury, employees
Cons: Costs of food and drink incredibly high
Location: Ventured to a fish fry restaurant one night for dinner. Great and HUGEs amount of food.
Loved The Reef because it had a kitchenette and also a King Size bed for adults. We had a studio terrace with an ocean view. Everyone is the most fun and friendly crowd of employees. Nothing bad to say besides the expense. 3 glasses of wine at a bar $80....Come on!

Great get-away, an easy trip from DC.

Wonderful weather. Even though the Royal Tower was sold out we never felt like the resort was overcrowded. Very expensive but occasionally you have to splurge!

Lovely clean accommodations on a gorgeous beach

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: Accommodations, food, beautiful grounds. Most of the staff very friendly.
Cons: Wifi isnt great and for almost $23 a day it should be. Also cannot get over my $18 rum punch. At least it was delicious.
Room at the Reef was exceptionally clean and uodated. Plenty of staff on hand.

Overpriced. Poor location.

Posted Jan 21, 2015
Pros: We felt safe. Room ambience was nice, with exception of soiled linens and mal-functioning TV. We did like the additioanl TV in bathroon area.
Cons: Pricing structure needs to be adjusted. We have travelled the world, and the value per dollar is absolutly RIDICULOUS. More adult activities at REEF.
Location: Water activites, shopping, and casino a 15-20 minute walk (or shuttle). ice pool ambience for reading or simply relaxing.
I would not recommend this property for several reasons: ~More than $500 per night for small efficiency room, plus an additional $70 per night for our son! ~Additional $70 - YES SEVENTY DOLLARS for internet ~Stains on pillow cases! ~Pool area did not offer beverage/food service - we had to wal to next hotel and purchase ~Television constantly freezing up ~This property is at the end of the Atlantis property - long walk (or shuttle) from casinos and nice restaurants.... ~No hotTub at the Reef. Although there was one at the other end of property that was filthy! ~Spa totally booked for the entre stay, even thought we tried to book in advance on checkin day

Comfortable Hotel, close to beach and attractions

Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: Proximity to beach and water park
Cons: Housekeeping efficiency
Location: Beach and water park
My family of 4 stayed at the Ocean Junior Suite at the Reef, Atlantis. The room is nicely equipped with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Access to the water park is free for hotel guests, wrist band policy was not consistently enforce. Hotel is very close to the beach and ~10-15 minute walk to the Aquaventure Park. There are no restaurants at the Reef but there are several accessible within a 5-10 minute walk or a short free shuttle ride. Housekeeping services were marginal, we had to call every single day and ask for something that housekeeping failed to stock up like towels, coffee, toiletries. It was always delivered to the room but it would be nice if this could be done without daily reminders. Staff are friendly and helpful at the hotel but I would not say the same of the staff at the water parks. Food is generally quite expensive, we stocked up on breakfast food and snacks, which was helpful and saved some $$. Overall, this is a nice hotel but would not classify it as a high-end luxurious resort.

Best Way to Do Atlantis

Posted Jan 6, 2015
Cons: Cons: There should be a gym for everyone, not just the Reef condo owners. And it's outrageous that Atlantis in general charges so much extra for Wi-Fi
Location: Steps from a great beach and pool, a short walk to Dolphin Cay, and the Atlantis water slides.
Very nice hotel with private beach and pool (shared with the Cove, which is up a notch from the Reef in terms of luxury) that gives you a respite from the hoards at the Waterpark, while still being a short walk away. Kids were happy, parents were happy. The Reef has fully functioning kitchenettes, so you can eat breakfast and lunch in, and even dinner if you want. You can save a lot of $$$ by skipping the overpriced sub-par food, and spend it on things like the fabulous deep-water dolphin experience at Dolphin Cay, right next door, or the JR Trainer for a Day experience, which my kids loved.

Great place to go on a family vacation

We ended up making reservations for Xmas time in November (kind of last minute). It was at least 50% higher in price. So, make your reservations ahead of time !!

Luxury property in an amusement park setting

Posted Dec 24, 2014
The reef is a beautiful condo-hotel property. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The service is almost 5 star. The room was not as clean as it should have been but overall the experience was great. The proximity to beach, pool and food outlets is perfect.
