Nice hotel

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: The rooms in Casitas are big and has a nice view of the ocean. The views in the resort are nice. Perfect for picture taking and relaxing.
Location: About 3 hours trip thru Cavitex. If you book a room, you have a free access to the Terrazas which is in a different resort about 8 kms. away.
The room is big and nice but has a very weird design for the comfort room. If you book a room, you have a free access to the Terrazas which is in a different resort about 8 kms. away from Club Punta Fuego. The beach is rocky. Towels are not free if you swim.

Huge property, needs updating.

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: There is a lot to like - huge property, lots of amenities. Pools are nice, my favorite was lower beach. Snorkeling was great.
Cons: - Lower price of food, drinks. Php 80 for bottled water is too much - If food is expensive, then improve the quality of it
Location: - Nothing to do but stay in the hotel. It is far from the city proper. They do have a lot of amenities so you will be ok to just stay in.
Let me tell you about the good stuff: - Huge property, there is a golf course, three sets of swimming pools (I visited two, skipped one and absolutely enjoyed one out of three) - No one was snorkeling except my boyfriend and I -- there is a huge reef at lower beach and lots of colorful fish. Highly recommend to try. We did get stung by a tiny jellyfish. No harm done, just a bit uncomfortable - Clean facilities overall - Bedroom was good size, nice bathroom, nice patio Not too crazy about the following: - Hotel seems to have too many rules posted. I find it quite uncomfortable walking around properties with too many rules. I just wanted to break the rules. Give freedom, people will thank you for it. This likely is the result of them having just recently opened the property to the public, it used to be that you can only get in if you are a member or be sponsored by a member. - I find entering the property quite uncomfortable, with guards with machine guns. Sure, ritzy people live in the area, but do you really need big guns outside? - They seem to be charging for beach towels for Php50 = $1 which I find ridiculous -- towels are so cheap, why charge for it? - It seems parts of the hotel are not well maintained anymore - you barely see any staff gardening or tending to the plants, its too bad. - The area where the main pool is stinks. I think it isnt the pool, it might be the beach at that area. - Breakfast buffet did not have as many choices in food

Very dirty hotel room

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Upon arriving you'll pretty much be annoyed with the staff at the front desk. Imagine SpongeBob explaining to you the Club Amenities. Annoying and won't even explain it well. Now the room, DIRTY, smelly, and fixtures are old. I even had to ask for a room spray because the room smelled like it wasn't refreshed. Filthy bathroom and shower area will really make you squeamish. Bed and pillows were not comfortable to sleep on. Restaurant served very mediocre food. Beach area does not have beach beds for tanning and staff to serve food or drinks.

Homey Hotel

Posted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: The hotel itself is very classy, plus all the facilities, i.e., pools, beach, playgrounds, restaurants, etc. added to its attraction.
Cons: Perhaps the food in the restaurant could be improved further to cater to the needs of the guests.
We had a very restful stay at Punta Fuego. As soon as we stepped in at Punta Fuego's premises (from the guardhouse), we felt welcome. All the staff were very courteous, polite, helpful and very efficient. We commend the briefings and trainings that were given to them, as they were able to put them all in practice and made the guests very contented and happy.

Nice view , food needs improvement

Posted Jan 5, 2014
For the price of $300/ night, I was disappointed :1) towels too old and worn , 2) beddings need refresh - smelled old 3) hot water ran out at 6am!!, 4) food tasted reheated; 5) kitchen too slow - took 25 min to prep halo halo dessert. Strong points : Great view Strong security presence Friendly staff - Michael our busboy was awesome / staff were attentive and respectful Good sized casitas I didn't see managers welcoming visitors - that's a disappointment.

Ideal for Family Getaway

Organized reception of guests most especially in the use of the facilities. Secure place. Food is quite expensive but considering the place, it's acceptable. The beach (in Terraza) was very good, the kids enjoyed it.
