The room was ok, but it looks like the bathroom's floor was not cleaned before our arrival since there were many body hairs...

excellent location

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: The staff all were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent.
Cons: The windows were dirty blocked the view from both sides of hotel, The breakfast bar needed to have fresh waffles not toaster. and more meat choices.
Location: Directly on the river, the city and restaurants are just across the street. Perfect for walkers and history buffs.
We chose this hotel because it was the only one we could get close by for the dates and number of nights we were staying. We could not check in until 4 pm, however they would have let us in sooner if the room would have been ready. We checked in and the clerk was very nice we had cookies waiting and a gift bag with a tshirt and goodies because of the balloon race that weekend. The room was a big spacious area and the beds were big and comfortable. The towels and washcloths were huge. It was a nice stay but I think it is a bit to expensive for what it was.

Nice hotel with great location

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Perfect location.
Cons: The faucet in the bathtub dripped all night and could not be shut off.
Location: Right in the historical district overlooking the river, lots to do in walking distance.
Enjoyed the stay in Natchez, and this hotel is right where we wanted to stay. Even though we booked and paid on Expedia, and the desk clerk easily found our reservation, it took a looong time to check in. We also were changed an additional $8.50 fee for "breakfast, parking and wifi" on top of what we paid through Expedia.

Not what I expected

Posted Oct 3, 2014
Pros: It was downtown.
Cons: Staff attitudes and professionalism! Breakfast! Clean windowsM
Location: You are right downtown on the riverside, close to several old homes and Natchez down under.
I thought I would be staying at a "grand" southern hotel. I was very disappointed with this hotel. Where was the charm and friendliness? The staff took about five minutes before they even acknowledged that I was there. Then there was a problem with my reservation The desk clerk rudely insisted my reservation was not until the next day. I explained I had been called the day before and was told they would see me tomorrow? Then I showed my expedia confirmation email. The clerk finally looked in a different place and found my reservation. This is not what you want to deal with after a six hour drive! The windows outside my room were so dirty you could not enjoy the view. At least the mattress did not make you automatically roll to the middle? Breakfast was not what I expected. The "fresh" fruit was the thawed frozen fruit. There were no pastries, only plain bread and packaged waffles to put in the toaster. The one redeeming feature was they actually had grits, and this southern girl really enjoyed them. The next morning when checking out, there were a lot of people who attended a gun show checking out, too. They were not given the rate that had been set up for their group. The clerk informed them she could not do anything about it and the manager was not there. So, instead of the arranged rate, They had to pay the regular rate and were told they would get refunds. There are other places to stay, that know what they are doing and are glad to see you.
